Yeh. I was watching THIS game. I didn't just look at the scoreboard. He looked terrible second and third period tonight. The only reason the score was so tight was lucky calls.

Enroth was beat a lot tonight, 5 posts.... Sure he made saves, but I would call his performance par for the course

I go back and forth on this. But is a goalie beaten if the puck hits the post?

Can a goalie be "beaten" if the shot goes wide? Is "beaten" the new advanced stat?

Most exciting parts to these games I go to never have to do with the actual game. The timekeeper gave my 6 year old the game puck and then asked him into the penalty box during intermission.

Aside from those great moments, I cant wait for this season to end. Has there EVER been a more boring team to watch ?

To me, it really depends on where the puck hits the post. If it barely hits it on the outside then now, because that shot is way off. If it hits the inside of the post then it's barely off and the goalie was beat.

Wasn't the Mighty Ducks movie based on this theory?

Do you know that a goal post is not considered a shot on goal? That's because by definition they can't go in the goal. Therefore one is not beat by a shot on goal post.

To me it has more to do with whether or not the goalie is still tracking the puck and the play but just gets a tough redirect or something of that nature. In this game though Enroth seemed to be wondering where the puck was just as much as me on my couch (and more actually).

I don't think any shots that hit the post count unless they deflect in (obviously) or make contact with the goaltender.

just got back from the game...

painful, boring, crowd was dead or asleep. the people all around me were yapping and not paying attention to the game(sec 106).

the offense is pathetic. the only forward that stood out to me was girgensons.

Did the shooter 'beat the goalie' if he hits the post? Typically, but not always, but it also typically doesn't matter because unless it does something crazy like bounce off the goalie it isn't going in.

Enroth: "It's tough to win with this team." #Sabres

Saw this, and, nobody how true it is, that's a pretty bold statement to make. Luckily a lot of these guys won't be around long so nobody can really hold him to it over time.

Joe Yerdon@JoeYerdonPHT2m

The Sabres have scored 18 goals in Enroth's 14 appearances this season.

More reason for him to make that comment.

This team has scored 7 goals for him in his last 8 games.

What else can he say?

The team has scored 57 goals in Miller's 29 appearances. That's a 1.965 goals per game pace.

18 in Enroth's 14 appearances is a 1.285 per game pace.

The sad part about it is, that 1.965 ranks as 2nd lowest in the NHL in 60 years. AND THAT'S .67 HIGHER THAN WITH ENROTH!!!!surprised-034.gif

As much as I doubt Moulson will re-sign with the Sabres, it would be a huge message to the league and other players if the Sabres could. The same can be said for Ott and Miller.

Moulson, Miller and Ott are all assets for a team that arguably is the worst since the expansion era. Being assets, we should trade them for market value, and if we want them back, we offer more than other teams offer to get to the cap floor. Right?

Nice. I think Webby's play has really improved over the past few weeks.

Yep. What is it with that guy? Terrible to start the season, but by the end he makes you think he's going to be very solid the next year.

Liking the way Omark looks tonight.

Thought that was the best passing I've seen by a Sabre this year. Fingers crossed he can develop some chemistry with Hodgson. Flynn just didn't know what to do with Omark's passes

Im usually a supporter of John Scott but it's dumb ###### like that that he just can not be doing.

Yes. Looked like he was nailed to the bench after the second call. He gets zero margin for error.

Lol Rayzor "... Lays there like he's shot... "

He was right. Kulikov got off the ice right after the whistle and was back for a regular shift. Weak play that cost his team a goal.

Will Larsson ever score an NHL goal??

Love the kid's hustle. Starting to worry his upside is Matt Ellis.

So many bounces went our way that game. Couple inches here and there and we could easily have been here talking about a 5-1 loss.

I think that a goalie wants to cover post to post, and inside a goalies head (me speculating) they would rather stop the shot than let it hit the pipe and take a possible bad carom..... The shots that hit the post tonight got behind enroth, because he was beat on the play or misread the puck and 5 posts is a lot.... Now this isn't to say he was awful or any reason we lost, but just makes me see where he is at when comparing with miller..

And all the stats with our offense is offensive, wow do we suck... I wouldn't be happy if I were Jhonas

I'd like to see how he'd fare on a team that doesn't suck tho

Are you comparing a clean hit to Scott's head hunting? How embarrassing for you. ;)

I am not comparing a clean hit to Scott's headhunting, because neither was the case.

Jovo's hit was not clean, and Scott's hit was not headhunting.

Jovo's hit was cleaner than Scott's, though.
