thewookie1 Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 He's says there are rumblings of a Gagner for Enroth trade.... Aside from his legitimacy being half of 1%, would you like this trade? Personally I'd much rather go after Eberle if they wanted Enroth, give them a couple seconds and Ruhwedel.
Who Else? Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 I wonder how many times alone he has been wrong about that one player.
darksabre Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 This only happens if a Miller signing happens first.
IKnowPhysics Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 This only happens if a Miller signing happens first. Agreed. And that only happens if a GM announcement happen first.
nfreeman Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 If by some miracle Edmonton were willing to do this, I would pull the trigger in a heartbeat and worry about Miller/next year's GT situation later.
... Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Agreed. And that only happens if a GM announcement happen first. Why? This is just wrong. There is nothing saying they can't sign Miller without a GM.
Trettioåtta Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Why? This is just wrong. There is nothing saying they can't sign Miller without a GM. Miller probably wants to know who will be his boss for that contract though
... Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Miller probably wants to know who will be his boss for that contract though He already does: Pegula, and PLF.
Hoss Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Not sure if I would do this trade, but I'm also not sure why this is a thread.
Assquatch Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Can we get a swear filter for "Eklund"?
IKnowPhysics Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Why? This is just wrong. There is nothing saying they can't sign Miller without a GM. It would be stupid and Charles Wangish to make big moves over the top of your GM candidate . Trust the guy you're about to hire.
CallawaySabres Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/08/welcome-sam-gagner-to-the-trade-rumor-mill/
sicknfla Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/08/welcome-sam-gagner-to-the-trade-rumor-mill/ You beat me to it. I know it's Eckland but this one has legs. Eberle - if they are even considering it - would require a a lot more than the Hoff.
darksabre Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Can we get a swear filter for "Eklund"? You're implying anyone here spells it right.
inkman Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Gagner would be Buffalo's 2nd or 3rd best offensive player. I don't really like him but for a back up goalie, I'd throw in Stafford too. ;)
darksabre Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Why? This is just wrong. There is nothing saying they can't sign Miller without a GM. I think it weakens our bargaining position with him, which we don't want to do. Jumping at Gagner isn't worth blowing our shot with getting Miller back. Alternatively it may tell Miller that he's not being challenged for the starting job I guess.
... Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 It would be stupid and Charles Wangish to make big moves over the top of your GM candidate . Trust the guy you're about to hire. "About to hire..." and this is when? What if the person they want isn't available until the summer? Should they be hand-cuffed, then? Or should they compromise their plans/ideals because of fan-paranoia? Winners don't compromise...period. I think it weakens our bargaining position with him, which we don't want to do. Jumping at Gagner isn't worth blowing our shot with getting Miller back. The Sabres will not be calling the shots on this contract. This is all Miller. The Sabres have money and cap-room to spare, and if they're willing to spend it, which they are, then there is no negotiation. Miller is simply asked "do you want to come back?" And if he says "yes" then they ask "what do you want?" There is no other way, even before the Olympics.
waldo Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 There are so many as good or better goalies avaiable why in the world would they do that.
IKnowPhysics Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Should they be hand-cuffed, then?...Winners don't compromise...period. So the Sabres are empowered to sign Miller. The Sabres will not be calling the shots on this contract. This is all Miller. But the Sabres aren't empowered to sign Miller. "About to hire..." and this is when? If the person they want is not available until the summer, then someone has to make moves, and it'd be understandable due to whatever stupid/extenuating circumstances arose. There's no evidence that we're at that juncture yet, but there is evidence that we're avoiding that juncture altogether.
Hoss Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 I like that Sizzle is extremely persistent that the many many reliable scribes have no idea what they're talking about.
Bob Malooga Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 I am happy someone posted this...now I can ask... Who the heck is "Ecklund?" Is he like that guy, "Incarcerated Bob?" Is he ever right with anything? Does he work for a team? He has posted pictures with views from press boxes before, on twitter. *The writing (spelling & grammar) on hockeybuzz is horrendous...WGR and TBN can be quite bad, as well.
Hoss Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 I am happy someone posted this...now I can ask... Who the heck is "Ecklund?" Is he like that guy, "Incarcerated Bob?" Is he ever right with anything? Does he work for a team? He has posted pictures with views from press boxes before, on twitter. Eklund has definitely been in press boxes before. Some scribes know who he actually is, but see no point in revealing it because he's just a blogger with no real inside info. And if you google, you'll find who he really is, too.
Bob Malooga Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 He also says the Bruins want Ehrhoff...what would we be wanting back from Boston? Thanks for the response, DStebb. :-) "On the Bruins...They are saying they are set on D, but no one is buying it. Now I am hearing they have made inquiries regarding Sabres D-man Christian Ehrhoff." http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Eklund/Rumor-Update-On-OReilly-for-Gardiner-Gagner-for-Enroth-Bruins/1/57038
Hoss Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 He also says the Bruins want Ehrhoff...what would we be wanting back from Boston? Thanks for the response, DStebb. :flirt: No problem. Dwayne Keith Klessel appears to be the real name of Eklund.
