Wow, Eleven, that sucks.

Too much firsthand experience tells me that you appreciate all of the gestures and kind words of support, but deep down inside know they don't fix a fricking thing. Yes, it really is nice to know people care, but all the caring in the world can't undo what happened. And we all know that what happened is just so incredibly unfair.

Of course, you will never forget - and nor should you. But know that slowly (too damn slowly it seems), it will eventually stop hurting and you will have nothing but appreciation for what she brought to your world. I know it sounds lame/contrite/silly right now, but you will grow to cherish those memories. You will cherish them because, after the hurt and emptiness are gone, those memories are abso-frickin-lutely awesome!

And all of those people in your life who are offering support? Don't close them out. Even when you just don't feel like dealing with people, let them in. It won't feel like it at first, but one day you will look back and realize how much sooner you got to a better place becasue of their help.

In the meantime, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

PS: You were right about Lindy.

SO sorry for your loss. I had no idea what your situation was but I knew something was up when I bought those Dec 14 game tix from you. I am so saddened by your loss. I'll add you and your wife to my prayers and go hug mine a little harder when I get home today.

God Bless!

I would echo all that has been said before me.

Having only vicariously lived through these situations it is not possible for me to truly comprehend where you are at. Thank you for thinking highly enough of this group and it's myriad of personalities to share such a difficult moment.

May your life move forward forever altered by the experiences you shared with such a strong spirit. For as long as you carry that with you, she will never be gone.

I'm very sorry, Eleven. I can't possibly imagine how difficult it is for you.

I'm sure she's up there watching down on all of us and is anxiously awaiting the next game.

My prayers to you and her family.

'It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.'

-Rose Kennedy.

I also believe that Love Never Dies. in time it is this Love that will help you go on.

Thinking of you, anytime you have a need I believe there are many who care for you,

Most sincere sympathy...

Thanks, everyone, for your kind thoughts and words. Let's get back to Complaint Thursday and, finally, some hockey tonight.
