11 you know where I am as well. So many words have been said already and by now I've just about run out. So I'll leave it with this: cancer sucks. Those have been just about the only words on my mind for a while now.

Feel free to send me a message through here if you want. I probably can't help any more than anyone else, but I can at least listen.

Blogs read and write. Sabrespace touches.

Among the biggest reasons it touches are your posts, Eleven.

In my mind's eye, I see you touching your fiancé, her family and her friends in the same way. We are all human, and grateful to those who move us.

Enjoy what you have and find peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you and her. Your decision to share brought me joy.

Eleven my condolences to you and my deepest sympathy. When I revealed on Sabrespace about the struggle my family is going through you reached out and showed real heartfelt concern for us and I've never forgotten that. I'm so sorry your partner lost her battle. Stay strong.

Eleven,

A few days before that Cup is raised, Tyler Myers will rap a puck into the Detroit end in overtime, and it will take a crazy carom off the end boards, land on Zemgus Girgensons' stick out front and get potted home. The Sabres will be one win away. It will have been Porky Palmer, of course, kicking away first, but your sweetie and a million other dearly departed Sabres souls will be right beside him.

Most everyone knows that in the process of mourning, when the adrenaline and the shock and the visitors go away, it gets worse before it gets better. Please lean on this board during that time. We didn't talk on here for many months — all because I got on your nerves and vice versa. I am sincerely sorry I wasn't there for you, if only in dorky (and angry!) hockey conversation.

Again, thanks for the outpouring of support. A couple of notes:

This dorky lurker is so very, very sorry to hear your sad news. I lost my other half to that thrice-accursed disease just short of our tenth anniversary two years ago...time helps, but there will always be a him-shaped hole in my heart. Take comfort where you can, and know that the edges of the hole do eventually hurt less.

F F-ING CANCER.

I'm sending you a private message; next time you delurk, please take a look.

I have placed a black armband around my avatar as commemoration.

Awesome.

You were there; you were. Every time someone quoted one of your damned posts!

Seriously: This board, and all of you who contribute to it, have been, and will be, a welcome distraction. From this in the near future, from something else in the distant future. That's why we come here, and that's why it's a great community.

Add my deepest condolences to those of your SabreSpace brethern above. May the many happy memories of your all too brief life together help carry you through the sad times ahead.

Isn't it fitting that the arena is unexpectedly dark tonight?

Godspeed, Mrs. Eleven

How the heck did you find an awesome girl who was a Sabres fan and a horseracing aficionado? It's not fair that combo exists....and it would seem it's not fair that you didn't get to enjoy it for as long as what seemed ideal. But I will share one thing that I have learned.....some things are so concentrated, so potent...that it is not possible for us mere mortals to handle for too long. There are bad beats in horse racing, and as we have all seen, bad beats in hockey....and sadly, bad beats in life. But when you take a moment of pause after the chaos....and reflect...you just smirk and know, you would do everything exactly the same way..again and again....that's the beauty of it all.

I'm very sorry. I'm glad you find some sense of comfort in this forum, and it is humbling to pay homage in my own little way, even though we have never met.

And...she is right about Lindy...... ;)

Condolences to you Eleven, no one should have to deal with such a problem so young. Cancer is a terrible way to lose someone, I lost my Grandma to it a couple years back. I will pray for both of you.

She wasn't just an aficionado--she trained racing thouroughbreds for fifteen years. (For those other than Drane, the jockeys you see on the tracks depend on trainers, back at the farm, to teach the horses how to race.) All over the world, too. She really, REALLY knew horses. You think you can read a racing form? She didn't need no stinkin' form!

And (I still love you, sweetie), she was and is dead wrong about Lindy!

I am sorry for your loss man.

###### Cancer.

I always read your posts and I will follow your advice and try and hug my wife, even if she stiff arms me in her sleep.

My condolonces to you and your family eleven. Hard to find anything adequate to say.

But this is truly the best board i have ever been on when it comes to following a team, and its in times like these this board shows why i like it here alot.

The people who took the time to listen to you and help you get through this have my respect.

To keep it short the level of maturity shown by most of the members is what makes this one of the better forums I know.

Just hold on to memories of her when you need comfort and lean on your friends and the people on this board you confided in for strength.

And im with you on lindy but im liking Nolan alot to :D

I'm sorry to hear 11/Santa, I've been here a while. But unfortunately was not aware of your circumstances... I hope you have the strength to push on and keep your head up.

If you need anything at all, don't hesitate to ask

I'll say an extra prayer for you and your family this evening.

RIP. Very sorry for your loss. You are in my family's prayers. May every sabres goal bring you happiness and fond memories (and no this is not a demented joke in reference to our scoring output).

So sorry for your loss. I lost my Mom almost 2 years ago after a 10 year fight. I have watched my Dad deal with the loss of a partner. Stay close to the people who care about you and let them know when you are down a quart. Hang in there. My sympathies.
