nfreeman Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 There are no real dates during the season without extreme travel or timing problems. Could see them just putting it on April 15th and then canceling it if neither team is in the postseason race. I think there is zero chance of cancellation. It's all about the Benjamins. They needed the pick now, and Sekera's value was what it was. It wasn't giving up as much as it was, this was his value at the time they needed to make the deal. Waiting another year for development = expanding the rebuild another year. We are probably arguing semantics. Why did they need to make the deal? Because it was part of Darcy's rebuild plan? No thank you. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 Well boo. No reason to eat bad bar food and drink beers and yell at complete strangers for me tonight. Who needs a reason to yell at complete strangers? Hell, down here it's the norm. :D Quote
biodork Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 Bummer. Missed the last few games and was looking forward to this one. Guess it's back to binge-watching of Breaking Bad for me tonight. Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 There are legitimately no dates where the game can be played without forcing at least one team to play three straight nights unless they throw it at the end of the season after the season is over. So? I work 5 days in a row all the time. Quote
26CornerBlitz Posted January 7, 2014 Author Report Posted January 7, 2014 XBOX One Live: Nolan vs Muller in NHL 14 for the two points. Quote
Hoss Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 So? I work 5 days in a row all the time. I have no idea what your job it, so let me ask: is your job extremely grueling on the body, are there random large men constantly running at you trying to destroy you, are there heavy frozen rubber objects flying at you, do you constantly have to pump your legs at your job? Unless you're either a hockey player or an Alaskan porn star, the answer to all those questions are no. Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) I wonder if they could simply postpone it a day? Yeah, it wouldn't avoid that three-day-in-a-row thing, but it would get it done and over with, and there's no way to avoid that anyway. I think it was Carolina that has the three games, maybe the third could be delayed a day to give them a day off. bbb Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 I wonder if they could simply postpone it a day? Yeah, it wouldn't avoid that three-day-in-a-row thing, but it would get it done and over with, and there's no way to avoid that anyway. I thought for sure that is what they would do when I was thinking about it last night. That is what usually seems to happen in these cases. Quote
Hoss Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 Postponing it a day just means we get to do this all over again tomorrow. Quote
Taro T Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 Oh calm down! People shouldnt be out driving to a game. Safely watch from home and hopefully they can reimburse people in some way. Which is why the game was postponed. Quote
Hoss Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 I guess you didn't see my tongue. It was in my cheek. Another common trait of Alaskan porn stars. I'm on to you. Quote
Jsixspd Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 I can't recall the last time a game was postponed due to weather. Quote
Claude_Verret Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 I can't recall the last time a game was postponed due to weather. I can't remember either. Was the last time when the scoreboard fell? Quote
... Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) I can't recall the last time a game was postponed due to weather. Wasn't a Boston game cancelled due to weather two seasons ago? EDIT: happened last season. From TSN: "The last time the Sabres had a game postponed was at Buffalo against New Jersey on Dec. 6, 2000. They played the following day." Peppy22 Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 Ok this means myers will also be suspended for the game against toronto. NHL&Leafs are afraid of myers so they postponed it. Its the obvious reason. Quote
sabresnutinphoenix Posted January 7, 2014 Report Posted January 7, 2014 69 and partly cloudy here! Quote
LGR4GM Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 ...so the sabres app just let me know about 20minutes ago... "10 Minutes to Puck Drop!" they couldn't turn that notification to off? Quote
Two or less Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 So... what is everyone watching tonight? Another game or what? I got Isles vs. Leafs on and some cold brews. Quote

Hoss Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Well... I guess I can't complain about spoilers considering I've already had the four MAJOR remaining plotlines completely ruined for me by big mouth roommates. Luckily the show is good enough to keep going. Quote
