nfreeman Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Chara is a great player who I am sure we all (or mostly) wish we had on the team. That said, he is borderline dirty with respect to his aggressive style and seems to be immune from penalties. Well, he's had over 100 PIM 3 times in his career, plus 95 PIM once, plus 70 PIM in 48 games last year.

Campy Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Well, he's had over 100 PIM 3 times in his career, plus 95 PIM once, plus 70 PIM in 48 games last year. So he gets called on roughly a third of them, then.
ROC Sabres Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 If the NHL in the the mid 2000's was anything like it is today I'm pretty sure Campbell would have been banned from the league for that hit on Umberger.

It would be argued forever about whether the principal point of contact was the head. Everything else about that hit was squeaky clean. That said, if that hit is suspendable, Scott Stevens doesn't have a career.

His weight was completely forward.
