HopefulFuture Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 .955% from Miller. Moulson on the PP, adds to his value, or, conversely, another reason to re-sign him, 2nd line winger PP specialist. I'd be ok with that. Omark with the assist on Ott's goal. Keep this kid with Ott, I liked what I saw.
Nitro60 Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Since Thanksgiving the Sabres are 7 6 3. I will assume that if they keep up this pace, they might lose out on the first overall draft pick. Just their dumb luck.
hockeyhound Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Says who? Unless Shanny is sleeping, it was direct contact to the head of Zubrus, and Myers left his feet in the process.
Stoner Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Sabres were flaccid Enter Matt L'Angostino Aphrodisiac.

Let's all come to peace with that.
SwampD Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Unless Shanny is sleeping, it was direct contact to the head of Zubrus, and Myers left his feet in the process. His one foot was still on the ice at the point of contact. It definitely came off afterward, though, but I don't think leaving your feet is an automatic suspension, anyway. I still don't think that hit is suspension worthy. Doesn't mean it won't happen, though.
Stoner Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Unless there's a draft lottery miracle, they're not drafting first overall. Let's all come to peace with that. Are you saying they won't finish last overall and have the best shot at it, or that even if they finish last, they'll need a "Buffalo sports miracle" to get it anyway?

Valid question. My take, (no one asked, I know :)), Nolan isn't going to have enough talent to say we aren't going to finish last. The reality is. Edmonton and the NYI's have more talent. It will be close, but not nearly as some believe given this little surge.
Robviously Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Are you saying they won't finish last overall and have the best shot at it, or that even if they finish last, they'll need a "Buffalo sports miracle" to get it anyway? Both. I think they finish around 5th thanks to some Ryan Miller heroics and "clutch" wins against bad teams and/or backup goalies. And I can't imagine them winning the lottery no matter where they finish.

That's the top pick you want, of course. Both. I think they finish around 5th thanks to some Ryan Miller heroics and "clutch" wins against bad teams and/or backup goalies. And I can't imagine them winning the lottery no matter where they finish. It's not like you to be so neurotic/paranoid.

They're the October 2013 Sabres every game. And Miller alone makes us better than the other bottom feeder teams. 40 games left and that's plenty of time to make our annual run away from the top of the draft. It's not like you to be so neurotic/paranoid. Is it paranoia if I've been right about this several years in a row?
sicknfla Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 We finish bottom two. This lineup won't catch anybody but Edmonton. At some point Miller is getting traded and then all will be well. Regardless, nobody in this draft is a star in the waiting. Good players yes but no studs. I am actually getting to the point that I am so accustomed to this crap product that I could go through another year of it meant McDavid or Eichel.
bcsaberks Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Top 3 F by TOI Devils Zajac 23:36 Jagr 19:14 Zubrus 17:53 Sabres Ott 21:07 Ennis 19:19 Moulson 18:07
Stoner Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Is it paranoia if I've been right about this several years in a row? I thought I detected a whiff of "the NHL will never let Buffalo have the top pick." But, no, you're 100% right.
HopefulFuture Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 What do you think about next year? That's the top pick you want, of course. I believe they end up 1st or 2nd overall, Eckblad isn't on their radar, if they are 1st over all, it's Reinhart, if they are 2nd over all and Eckblad is there, they trade down, 3 through 5, for a more lucrative offensive package, Dal Colle maybe, just my take. Dude, have you watched Edmonton play? They're the October 2013 Sabres every game. And Miller alone makes us better than the other bottom feeder teams. 40 games left and that's plenty of time to make our annual run away from the top of the draft. Your Buffalo sports curse bias is showing :P In the end, there is just not enough talent and/or coaching to sustain, but the sunshine and roses are a pleasant mid-season surprise, innit :)
Jsixspd Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Nice regulation win! Glad to see the team bounce back with a high energy effort after a couple lifeless road games
Nitro60 Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 NYI 43 games 14 wins, Calgary 41 and 14, Edmonton 44 and 13, Buffalo 42 and 12. They have a chance (Miller in goal) to catch and pass these teams specially if they go into salary dump mode after the Olympics. Calgary and Edmonton each have won only 2 of their last ten while the Sabres have won 5. I see it trending in the Sabres favor to escape the cellar and blow a chance to get the top pick. We will see in a couple of months.
CallawaySabres Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Son lost a tooth falling into table and can't go to game daughter goes instead and has Sabretooth sit on lap, gets on jumbotron and sees a win Can you say insult to injury, oof
qwksndmonster Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 If Miller doesn't get the start over Quick, I'm going to... complain? I guess? But it'll be a lot of complaining! For all the ###### Omark has been getting on the board lately (possibly well earned, I haven't been watching much in the past week), I thought he played a good game tonight. Made tough and smart plays when I noticed him. Someone needs to tell the moron he just got picked off waivers by the worse team in hockey. What is he supposed to do? Mope and cry? Dude is a hockey player. Son lost a tooth falling into table and can't go to game daughter goes instead and has Sabretooth sit on lap, gets on jumbotron and sees a win Can you say insult to injury, oof
Huckleberry Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Currently only 5 pts behind Edmonton with 3 games in hand. Just saying. you should stop eating those lemons, be like rest of us see the game while drunk/stoned and try to enjoy positive things. You got tickets to the Habs game tonight? But yet some think we would win every AHL game by 3 goals or more. Good luck. And yes i can see us getting over edmonton but after the trade deadline we'll be playing with the kids again if the new gm did his job
thewookie1 Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 For the worriers about the top draft pick, remember, we still can't win away. And even winning out home games will only give us 18 more wins. Not to mention I could see, if we keep Nolan, us convincing either Moulson or Ott to get traded and return in the offseason at a premium. Since it would hasten are rebuild after all.

Since it would hasten are rebuild after all. First of all, that kind of thing would never work out. Second of all, if you're going to talk that way, why not bring Vanek back? ;)
Marvelo Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Omark was dishing some slick passes tonite. I like the skill.
