I'm going to be a Debbie Downer for a second (or as I always am):

I absolutely hate how smiley Steve Ott was there on the bench. I don't want my captain all happy-go-lucky when a scrub scores in a 4-1 loss (I also don't want him to be a complete negative nancy either, though).

Maybe they just told him he's been traded

I also kind of hate when Matt Ellis scores. I just don't want him around any longer than he has to be.

Just for their sanity I'm glad to see a few smiles. Face it, this team may be the worst since the expansion era began. I won't begrudge them for trying to have fun in a horrible situation, as long as the effort is there. Openly dogging it and laughing is another thing entirely, and the perception that got Rolston kicked out of town.

My point was that Myers and Weber may have bad plus minuses but it's not a true indicator of the poor play on this team. Everyone is accountable. I'd even go as far to say that Myers and Weber are two of the least guilty of poor play on this team. Lets look at Leino, Ennis, Flynn, Ott, D'Agostini, Foligno, Stafford, McBain, Sulzer, Ellis, Porter, Tallinder.

I agree completely and I wasn't trying to single out Myers & Weber - just a quick perusal on my part of the NHL stats and these 2 jumped out at me for being at the bottom of the heap. BTW I don't think Ellis is part of the problem.

Well played. He did stand up off the bench when he smiled.

Awarding a goal? I hadn't seen that one before.

Happened earlier this year in Pitt, too. I guess they could have them take a penalty shot on an empty net, but that's pointless.

Saw parts of the 1st 2 periods, but got to watch the last 12 minutes.

Don't know how Myers looked earlier, but he was very strong while I was watching. About the only guy that did look good while I was watching.

I clicked the "reply" button, but it is not working...

Anyways, I had to reply to the previous post by "ThirtyEight," and I have to agree.

I got 3 years probation for my first and only DWI, when I was 22 years old. There is no doubt Heatley's "celebrity" helped him in that case.

Sorry to impose here, but 3 years probation for what he did is a joke.

Go Sabres!

I don't ever want to see McBain and Sulzer on the ice together ever again.

Edit: I don't ever want to see them on the ice period

Its what i was thinking myself in the 1st period already, didn't we call a young Dman up today ?

Stayed up till 05.00 am for this stinker.

When was the last time Myers had one of those "bad Myers" moments?

He's been incredibly consistent and dependable in his zone the past month or two.

If we had a few forwards his point totals and his plus-minus would be looking a lot better.

I know its not saying much, but has there been a better Sabre lately?

I don't want the team to be happy losing but I also don't want them to be a completely miserable the way they were to start this season. I'm fine with some of the smiles we saw late in the game after Ellis scored.

When I saw Ott chuckle I knew someone would make an issue of it.

I definitely like Myers lately. He's carrying the puck more and crashing the net like he used to. It's worth repeating: If Myers ever gets back to what he was in his first season, he IS the rebuilding plan.

Really need to drop many players from this team and blow this up.

Scott

Stafford

Leino

Ellis

Weber

Porter

Flynn

I know he's gone, thank god, but Darcy really screwed this team up big time! So devoid of talent its pathetic.

Goaltending and defense maybe but I still don't think we would/could score enough goals.

Johan Larsson:

19 games with Buffalo: 0g, 1a, 1pt

13 games with Rochester: 2g, 7a, 9pt.

Sabres wouldn't lose a game. Win all in regulation by at least 3 goals.

Then you don't have an accurate read on the Sabres talent vs AHL squads.

That is the reason I asked. I see absolutely NO offensive talent. AT ANY LEVEL. We could interchange 12 players a night between Rochester and Buffalo and be no worse than we are right now.

They'd lose a handful (heck, the Isles beat the Hawks tonight), but no more than that.

It'd be quite a bit like the late '70's Habs playing the Barons or the Sabres from that era playing the Caps.

Luke Adam and TJ Brennan are lords of the AHL...

Not intentionally ignoring your questions, just haven't watched them closely enough this year (due to work and kids, not their 'pathetic' play) to definitively answer either. Though I'd give serious consideration to saying 'Miller' to the 2nd.
