There is just no reason to watch this team now that the Teddy honeymoon is over. I honestly can't think of a single entertaining play they have had in this game.

Pommers has 18. Still like the trade??

Ask me in 3 years when we see what we have in Larsson, Zadorov and Hackett.

Ask me in 3 years when we see what we have in Larsson, Zadorov and Hackett.

 

I like the trade in that we were paying Pominville near elite money for being very solid, yet not elite. Structure of the team's salary is just as important as having great players. And paying Vanek/Pominville huge dollars meant true contention wasn't in our near future.

If Miller is on the fence about staying in Buffalo this game should decide it for him. Brian Burke described the Sabres as a trainwreck during the Olympic selection video and others including some on this board have used the same language but the description is apt.

I'm going to be a Debbie Downer for a second (or as I always am):

 

I absolutely hate how smiley Steve Ott was there on the bench. I don't want my captain all happy-go-lucky when a scrub scores in a 4-1 loss (I also don't want him to be a complete negative nancy either, though).

 

I also kind of hate when Matt Ellis scores. I just don't want him around any longer than he has to be.

Player with a breakaway and no goalie gets awarded a goal if an infraction is committed against him.
