hockeyhound Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Goose is playing really well this year. Has remained healthy and is second in the NHL in faceoff %. The Preds problem this year is goaltending as Pekka Rinne has been out injured and the backups stink. Preds games are a lot of fun BTW. My brother had tickets for the game 2 wks ago; looks like we will be going to a few games once we settle in. I hear they have some weird chants.
Nitro60 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Goose has 5 goals and 3 assists in 40 games played.
hockeyhound Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Nice seeing the boys get bullied tonight. yup
kishoph Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Nice seeing the boys get bullied tonight. Why have John Scott in the lineup, if you're gonna allow people to run your goalie and your best young player ? Happy New Year everyone.
Iron Crotch Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Goose has 5 goals and 3 assists in 40 games played. He has had a really good year. His value (as we Sabres fans know) doesn't always show up on the stats sheet.
hockeyhound Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 I would've liked to see Scott on D tonight clearing out the front of the net for Enroth.
wjag Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 That call on Scott should get a ref fined. A game misconduct, seriously? That is as eggregious a call as I have EVER seen. I NEVER comment on penalties, but that was beyond the pale.
SabreFX Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 I hate to say it, and I'm sure it's an unpopular opinion, but I think I'm done with Foligno if he doesn't turn it around this season on a consistent basis. I LOVED what he brought to the team initially, but he's been MIA all of this season and pretty much all of last (shortened, granted) season. Guy like him shouldn't be coughing up the puck so easily and it seems like most of the physicality he's been bringing has been a bit bone-headed and momentum killing. I've seen him peel away from the play just to lay a hit on a random guy when the Sabres have been in control of the puck too many times this season. We know he can play better than that! All last season, I kept thinking Foligno and Myers were playing like they were stoned out of their minds. They just looked lost. Fortunately, Myers has stepped up his game considerably under Nolan. I'd love to see Foligno get with the program sometime soon. And yes, I'm well aware the Sabres have 99 problems but Foligno is one. I guess I just expect more from him since he seems like the kind of player who would thrive under Ted Nolan.

I think he would've played well for Nolan; sure miss the face-off wins.. I would like to see the Sabres get his brother, and have both of the Foligno's in a Sabres uniform. You can't teach big, and the Sabres need big; he'll turn it around. I definitely agree that he needs to be more consistent. Let's Go Buffalo! Wow, that was way to many words, need another one.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 1, 2014 Author Report Posted January 1, 2014 Adam and McNabb? @BNHarrington Nolan says two #Amerks coming tomorrow Won't say #Sabres
hockeyhound Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Adam and McNabb? @BNHarrington Nolan says two #Amerks coming tomorrow Won't say #Sabres Maybe Tardif gets a shot at the big time again. Big body that plays with grit.
wjag Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 This might have been Nolan's worst job of coaching since he took over.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 1, 2014 Author Report Posted January 1, 2014 This might have been Nolan's worst job of coaching since he took over. The Sabres have yet to win on the road under Nolan since he took over from RR.
Nitro60 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 I wish Goose was still a Sabre. He did all the dirty and gritty stuff well.
Tondas Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 What is it about Buffalo teams and winning on the road?
hockeyhound Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 I wish Goose was still a Sabre. He did all the dirty and gritty stuff well.
Rox11 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 But the Isles won so at least that helps with last place ... Happy New Year ... be safe CHEERS!
JJFIVEOH Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Can't Scott take this issue to the NHLPA? If the rules are to be enforced consistently and without bias, he could have a solid case.
hockeyhound Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Happy New Year! Cheers  But the Isles won so at least that helps with last place ... Happy New Year ... be safe CHEERS!
wonderbread Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Happy New Year my favorite hockey family. Hopefully this new year brings us closer to our quest for a cup.

Huckleberry Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 One of my good friends is currently in Brussels and just posted on facebook that he was drinking Trappist Westvleteren! 10.2% alcohol. Awesome, awesome beer. Pretty hard to find in the U.S. tell him to also try Orval Grimbergen Geuze Duvel ... ###### it my list is to long , just have him try as much as possible :D

The Preds problem this year is goaltending as Pekka Rinne has been out injured and the backups stink. Preds games are a lot of fun BTW. "Really well." He's still unable to produce any sort of offense. Vastly overpaid for a face off specialist who can both the opponent once in a while. Worth noting that Nolan is still winless on the road. Adam and McNabb? @BNHarrington Nolan says two #Amerks coming tomorrow Won't say #Sabres Really don't understand the point of not saying. Seems like one of those Greg Popovich "I want attention" moments.
JJFIVEOH Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Really don't understand the point of not saying. Seems like one of those Greg Popovich "I want attention" moments. He didn't sound 100% sure they could get here in time, maybe he just wasn't going to tell the BFLO media something and have it fall through, knowing full well they would trash him with 'Well, you said this.... you said that....' Hell, Hamilton and Schopp were already stooping low enough to mock him for apparently now knowing enough about the opposing teams. If I were a coach knowing the BFLO media, I'd probably hesitate to say anything substantial.
