Doohicksie Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Omark looked a little better today. I think he's learning Nolan's style. He was much better positionally.
CallawaySabres Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 I Would care a lot more about these Miller wins if he was staying. If he ends up leaving, I would just assume the loss and see how bad the talent really is.
Eleven Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Nice win despite the lack of offense. Miller was, umm, above average tonight.

Jsixspd Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 That was an off-the-hook win tonight against one of the better offenses in the NHL. Ryan Miller played one of his best games ever - far above his normally high average, and that's the big difference in this game. Overall, Ted Nolan has this team playing their collective arses off! I also noticed that Ville Leino wasn't on the ice for overtime - that made me breath a sigh of relief. In a 4 on 4, Ville Leino is an even bigger handicap to a team when he's on the ice than in a normal 5 player lineup.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 30, 2013 Author Report Posted December 30, 2013 Anybody want to criticize Miller tonight?
That Aud Smell Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 don't look now, but nolan has a team with a goalie playing at an elite level and a bunch of nobodies working their arses off. well, that was the case this evening anyway. it was uncanny.

I was thinking the same thing. It's kinda cool isn't it?
SwampD Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Anybody want to criticize Miller tonight? I do. He never should have shaved off his his Zappa facial hair. He looked bad ass with it.
bunomatic Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 I do. He never should have shaved off his his Zappa facial hair. He looked bad ass with it. Ahem. Like moi ?
Iron Crotch Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Sabres are 5-3-2 over their last 10 games. Unfathomable a couple of months ago. In Teddy we trust!
Doohicksie Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Has anyone else noticed that in the ESPN power rankings, the Sabres moved from 29th to 20th in one week?
qwksndmonster Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Nobody else noticed because hockey fans don't read espn  Impressive with 30% ahl roster
Huckleberry Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 He'll be going to Sochi for sure according to reports today. Starter hasn't been announced, but I doubt Quick or Howard have any shot of starting over him. Starter will be between miller and bishop, quick will be 3rd goalie, howard won't make the cut.
dudacek Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 The St. Louis Blues would have to be absolutely nuts not to trade at least their first rounder for Miller. The question is who else would be in the bidding? A team like Anaheim would have to make an offer just to keep him away from St. Louis, wouldn't they? Would the Penguins be in the mix? The Avalanche? Why not Washington? He's at another level right now.
Doohicksie Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Why do your fantasies center around what draft pick we would get for Miller? Mine are all about how we can sign him.
LaLaLaFontaine Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Nice win despite the lack of offense. Miller was, umm, above average tonight. But only slightly. Miller is a mediocre overpayed goalie, who would not be the number one in any other nhl team than Buffalo. Of course a :D The St. St. Louis in my oppinion have to acquire him. With a hot Miller they are a clear cup contender/ favorite. They would send us Halak and hopefully a high ranked rookie forward and a pick. (1st or second) Why do your fantasies center around what draft pick we would get for Miller? Mine are all about how we can sign him. I totally agree, if we can sign him we should.

dEnnis the Menace Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 first: that hit by Ennis was awesome second: if anyone thinks that Miller should not be starting for team USA, especially after his last 5 or so games (.945+ sv%), I'd like whatever you're on.
Jsixspd Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Sabres are 5-3-2 over their last 10 games. Unfathomable a couple of months ago. In Teddy we trust! 5 out of 6 possible points in the last 3 games - geez! :) 4 wins and 2 losses over the last 6 games And 9 out of 12 possible points! Two of the 4 wins were against teams with winning records (Boston and Washington). A lot better than what we had before Ted was brought back. And guys like Stafford and Myers are playing notably better now than before the coaching change.

Jsixspd Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 I think especially Myers was excellent. Yes, Tyler had a fine game last night! I can't believe I'm even writing that! LOL And I was happy that Ott got the winning goal.... Given his lack of production during regulation, he would have been the last guy I would have guessed to win the shootout! He works so hard, and has so little success scoring, it was nice to see! I saw the one stat near the end of the 3rd period - Capitals team had 9 hits, and Ott had 8 by himself!

Seems to be more about who earned the opportunity to win the game for the team vs straight-up shoot-out skill. Gus in the 3rd slot two games in a row? Ott over Stafford and Leino?

FolignosJock Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 If Miller wasnt the starter already, he is now! There is never a time that Ott should not be over Stafford and Leino in the shootout. I think that was Otts first goal in the shootout in 6 chances...... I like stafford in the shootout. I also love Linus! He should be i nthe top 3 each time just for his highlight reel
