Just getting to this game now. Nice to see the good guys with a 2-0 lead. A 2-0 lead after one has to be the first time all season.

 

Times are a changing.

 

Only 18 points out of the playoffs... :-)

If he keeps it up, I don't see him being taken off the 1st line.

So far, I'm more impressed by Girgs than Hodgson. He seems to have a lot more guts and drive than Coho.

what a lame penalty! Here come the officials trying to help the Leafs! Stafford got hooked down to the ice in front of the Leafs net towards the end of the 1st.... NO PENALTY!!!

This is, in fact, the first time all season the Sabres have scored more than one goal in the first period.

 

Edit: It is only the 10th time all year the Sabres have even scored once in the first. Their 9 first period goals were by far the fewest, with Carolina next at 16.

 

Thanks for the confirmation. I thought so, but I thought for sure I had to be wrong.

Gotta give Matt Ellis a lot of credit on the Scott goal. That little lob shot he took on Bernier was hard to control and his hustle created confusion and drew the defenders away from Scott.
