He threw the elbow and missed but connected with the upper part of his arm near his shoulder rather than the elbow. Doesn't matter that he missed; the elbow was thrown with malicious intent. He should sit for awhile.

I thought the same thing, his tricep might have caught the side of his head, but the elbow caught nothing but air. Definitely nothing to make him go to the ice like that. They should suspend the Phoenix player for that dive.
