Eleven Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 Agreed its not good. Nolan said hes home sick. Thank you for that important information that was missing from the tweets I had read about half an hour ago. If he's sick, he's sick. Quote
inkman Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 Agreed its not good. Nolan said hes home sick. Talk about bad timing. Maybe they can send him down to the Amerks and he can visit home while they compete for the Spengler cup. Quote
Two or less Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 home, sick or homesick? haha sick. 4-5 others are sick too, but Nolan only confirmed Omark as one of the sick players. Quote
inkman Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 home, sick or homesick? I hope it's the former, my preceding post was assuming it was the latter. Quote

inkman Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 lol you guys are a hilarious bunch, thats for sure. Not sure if you were quoting Nolan with the "home sick" terminology but I probably would have went with "out with an illness". Maybe it's just me. Quote

wjag Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 4-5 guys all at home, in bed, not feeling well? don't go back to that restaurant, fellas. Flu went through Boston. Bas-tards probably gave it to Buffalo with the home and home. Incubation time about right. Quote

Hoss Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 (edited) So Larsson playing tonight would likely mean Omark will be missing tonight, right? English isnt my first language, so i'll take blame for the bad grammar. I understood what you wee saying haha Edited December 23, 2013 by DStebb Quote
Derrico Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 So Larsson playing tonight would likely mean Omark will be missing tonight, right? I think it's Porter who he's replacing. Quote
Hoss Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 I think it's Porter who he's replacing. Ah duh. I read that on twitter but forgot it. But id assume more than just Porter will miss tonight if 4/5 guys have the bug. Quote
26CornerBlitz Posted December 24, 2013 Author Report Posted December 24, 2013 http://www.cbc.ca/sp...n-edmonton.html Edmonton's compensation for Linus Omark: If he plays 15 NHL games this season, with the Buffalo Sabres or anyone else, it's a sixth-round draft pick in June. If he falls short of that yet re-signs with Buffalo before the draft, it's still a sixth rounder in June. If he re-signs after the draft, it's a sixth rounder in 2015. Memorize this, there will be a test. Quote
Derrico Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 Bump. It's funny reading through this now and seeing how pumped some were for the trade. I know we didn't give up anything of real value so it's fine he's waived but there were a few gems in here. Great first post by Naulter as well lol. Quote
LGR4GM Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Confirmed: Sabres Winger Linus Omark from Edmonton, sucks. Edited February 7, 2014 by LGR4GM Quote
Huckleberry Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 Don't think we are done with him, they send him down to get more of a look at him. Keep him playing, he has untill the end of the season to turn it around. Quote

Doohicksie Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 Linus Omark gets his “second opinion” as Buffalo Sabres place former Oiler on waivers Don't think we are done with him, they send him down to get more of a look at him. Keep him playing, he has untill the end of the season to turn it around. I think we're done with him. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Ahaha. Keeping the pick. Suck it, Edmonton. We just got a free AHL player. In making this move, the Sabres appear to be avoiding paying the price of a conditional sixth round draft choice to the Oilers. That pick was set to kick in if Omark played 15 or more games for the Sabres. edit: Or ######. Maybe not. The question has arisen on Twitter (hat tip to Michael “Speeds” Spidell) whether that sixth round draft pick might still be in play if another team were to claim Omark and give him enough games to get him over that GP threshold. Impossible to know without seeing the fine print in the original condition, which may well have specified “15 games with the Sabres”. It has folks speculating about whether the Oilers themselves might benefit from picking up Omark and giving him a couple more games. Edited February 7, 2014 by IKnowPhysics Quote
darksabre Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 Ahaha. Keeping the pick. Suck it, Edmonton. We just got a free AHL player. There's more to it than that. If another team picks him up and plays him we lose that pick. Quote
