Derrico Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 If it means anything, the Sabres have had the toughest schedule of the bottom 12 teams up to this point. It does, that's why we can't go starting to win games now ala 2013, 2012, 2011.....
dudacek Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 McNabb was strong Tuesday. I am surprised at that move.

Robviously Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 It does, that's why we can't go starting to win games now ala 2013, 2012, 2011..... Sabres are not going to finish last in the league. We're right about at the time where they start having their strong second half to the season and lock down that 10th overall pick. People will get excited about the strong end to the season and will think it will carry into next season. Then, guess what happens...

Usually happens because they suck so bad that everyone takes them lightly, and start their backups. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I bet the Sabres are consistently in the top 5 of teams in the league who face the most backups during a season.

That's my fear....it's already a wasted season record wise, I don't want a desperate push to 10th. Although with the pure talent (or lack thereof) I'm not as worried this season.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but I bet the Sabres are consistently in the top 5 of teams in the league who face the most backups during a season. We figured out a couple years ago that they weren't facing more backups but that the games against backups were responsible for the bulk of their wins during the "hot finish" from a couple years back.

Iron Crotch Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 People are obsessed with draft position around this place... <_<

Although with the pure talent (or lack thereof) I'm not as worried this season. Although if the Sabres somehow did manage to pull off the run to nowhere again, I wouldn't be as pissed as I was in years past. The only way the Sabres on going on a run like that this year is on the backs of the kids, which would mean that they are developing into real full time NHL players, and we would need to get real 1st/2nd line minutes from some combination of them. It's not going to happen, but at least it would be true progress if it did, instead of just false hope like in past seasons.

kishoph Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 McNabb was strong Tuesday. I am surprised at that move. He didn't have a bad game and I certainly can't see Weber being an improvement. Bad move.

SwampD Posted December 13, 2013 Report Posted December 13, 2013 That John Scott penalty was suspect at best. Anderson was well outside the crease and Scott was pushed. Since when do they not only disallow the goal, but also give the penalty? Whatever. Good period, but that call just chaffed me.
