CallawaySabres Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Last year I said Girgs would eventually be the fans favorite player - well, he is definitely mine
... Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 It's gotten to the point where I feel sicker after a win than a loss. It's embarrassing that they have to salute the crowd after EVERY home win. They're happy the fans are hanging in there with them. It's okay. Last year I said Girgs would eventually be the fans favorite player - well, he is definitely mine There's something special about that guy. I like that every time they show the bench, he looks like he's having a good time. That's all I want to say about him now...
Hoss Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 They're happy the fans are hanging in there with them. It's okay. I'm not saying the fans don't deserve it. They should solute the fans after every good play considering how they've stuck around. But sheesh, you're still supposed to be pros.
SwampD Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 It's gotten to the point where I feel sicker after a win than a loss. It's embarrassing that they have to salute the crowd after EVERY home win. I don't feel sick, but I'm pretty emotionless. I'd be pissed if we lost, but winning does nothing for me. Wow. What's the point of watching?
thewookie1 Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 A loss in OT is what causes problems, not the win. A win in OT means we won, but still allowed the other team to get a point. When we lose in OT we merely get a point with the loss which leaves us bitter. Girgs! 2 times! You know now Girgs actually has the same amount of goals as Grigs does on his career.

What's the point of watching? Yea, I'm more here than feeling sick. I just feel negative emotions towards certain lame things this team does.
Iron Crotch Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Last year I said Girgs would eventually be the fans favorite player - well, he is definitely mine The kid is only 19 and is already one of our top two-way players. He is all hustle all the time.

JJFIVEOH Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 If somne of you guys won a million dollars you'd bitch about how you got paid. For ######'s sake, I come on here after a pretty damn good game and a deserving win, and y'all are bitching. I don't care, call me repetititve. But christ, there's a time and place for everything. Can't you at least wait until tomorrow? And you wonder why nobody posts here any more.
darksabre Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Yea, I'm more here than feeling sick. I just feel negative emotions towards certain lame things this team does. Ya know, a lot of teams salute the crowd after every game win or lose. Acknowledging the fans is hardly lame.
Weave Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 The shootout is the new Darcy Regier. Forever making sure the Sabres get a mediocre draft pick while not actually playing real hockey. I laughed.
Iron Crotch Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Ya know, a lot of teams salute the crowd after every game win or lose. Acknowledging the fans is hardly lame. They do that down here in Nashville after every win.
Weave Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 I've got to say, Girgs seems to really be getting comfortable. He's starting to gain enough confidence to play his game. He's going to be fun to watch the rest of this season.
darksabre Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 They do that down here in Nashville after every win. Every college team I've ever watched play hockey does it. In fact I wish the Sabres would do it every game. It's a nice way of saying to the fans "hey, sorry about that" instead of just running for the locker room.
JJFIVEOH Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Damn, what are the odds the Panthers and Sabres both win on the same night? :flirt: They do that down here in Nashville after every win. Down here, the Panthers that make a top 3 star come out and throw T-shirts to the fans.

Here too, but that happens after the team salutes the team at center ice before heading to the room.
biodork Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 So glad I was able to watch that one. The shootout was kinda painful, but loved the emotion and a rare win by the good guys. That shot Myers took off the neck is sure gonna leave a mark (but hopefully that's all).
Hoss Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Ya know, a lot of teams salute the crowd after every game win or lose. Acknowledging the fans is hardly lame. It wouldn't be lame if they did it after every game like other teams do. They don't, though. That's what makes it almost pathetic and lame.
JJFIVEOH Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 Here too, but that happens after the team salutes the team at center ice before heading to the room. What I really don't like is how it's all scripted. Everything has become so 'cookie cutter' over the last few years. When every single team does it after every single win, it really takes the sincerity away from it. It's not genuine any more. Arenas use a lot of the same music, a lot of the same rituals..... when a team tries to be different everybody else will eventually copy them.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 11, 2013 Author Report Posted December 11, 2013 Zemgus had the Carubba Collision in addition to the scoring the Sabres only goal and getting the SDG: http://video.sabres.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=507674
dudacek Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 I thought that was a highly entertaining game, even if the Senators were sleepwalking. The shootout had some rather pathetic attempts. (In our defence ours were by Matt D'Agostini, not Jason Spezza.) Team worked its collective ass off tonight. I liked the Ennis line a lot. Brayden McNabb may have slow feet, but the kid sure knows how to play the point. If he arrives this year, it will be another step in the right direction. Hope Myers is alright. That kid is on his way back. I'm sad for those who have had all the joy sucked out of them by Darcy and Rahn. We have a long way to go, but we're getting better.

Just because teams copy each other doesn't make these things bad. It's the nature of the beast. Not every idea can be original.
JJFIVEOH Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 I think you're reaching a little bit. Just because teams copy each other doesn't make these things bad. It's the nature of the beast. Not every idea can be original. No, they're not always bad. In this case it's just not very sincere. Instead of being happy that the players came out to show their appreciation, you're reminded that every team does it after every single win. It's part of the reason why I stopped watching NASCAR. Nothing is ever spontaneous any more, it's all scripted. And I agree, he is reaching a bit. A lot of reaching in this thread tonight. :P
