darksabre Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 This is awesome Cody McCormick on the ice to start that 6 on 5  Hodgson oh so close
26CornerBlitz Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 This is awesome https://vine.co/v/hQKimK7l7bu
Iron Crotch Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 It's the final countdown.... oh, oh.
Nitro60 Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Man advantage is the Sabres' disadvantage.
darksabre Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Ott is now the best face-off man. Wow. Until Grigorenko comes back.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Man advantage is the Sabres' disadvantage. It's the Powerless Play.
Iron Crotch Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Well, at least we scored more than one goal! Two goals is an offensive explosion for this team!
dudacek Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Only allowed 19 shots on the road against a good team. Couldn't have even dreamed of that the first 20 games of the year. As talentless as we are, at least Teddy's got them playing responsibly without the puck.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Saw the 4th line out there late in the with the boys down a goal....Nolan needs to get with today's NHL.
Taro T Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 All he did was what we always wanted Darcy to do. Break up the underachieving core. After '75, those guys got awfully entrenched and comfortable and did nothing in the playoffs until the spring of '80 and then had another early exit in '81. AND he stocked up on high round picks. How'd that work out?
Nitro60 Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 For a team like the Sabres when scoring is a problem so they have to be disciplined in their own end. Giving up easy goals just make it harder to win. The impact to the team is visible. You can see the guys on the bench deflate. Ted Nolan has his hands full.
Eleven Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 AND he stocked up on high round picks. How'd that work out? Paul Cyr. John Tucker. Don't remind me.
kishoph Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Cody McCormick on the ice to start that 6 on 5  John Scott wasn't available.
JJFIVEOH Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Two goals or less in regulation 12 of the last 13 games. Wow...........
Stoner Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 AND he stocked up on high round picks. How'd that work out? Not well, but it doesn't mean he was wrong to break up the old gang. When they got knocked out by Pittsburgh on that OT goal in 79, tell me you weren't ready to run those chain-smoking slackers up the flagpole. And he did draft three near-Hall of Fame talents in two years.
Taro T Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Paul Cyr. John Tucker. Don't remind me. Jiri Dudacek. Not well, but it doesn't mean he was wrong to break up the old gang. And he did draft three near-Hall of Fame talents in two years. Team was 3 years away from the finals in '79. Ooooop. 3 years, 20 years; they're almost the same.
deluca67 Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Saw the 4th line out there late in the with the boys down a goal....Nolan needs to get with today's NHL. Which "4th line" are you referring to.

LaLaLaFontaine Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Not everything was bad. For example Girgensons Ennis and Adam were playing quite well and made lots of pressure. Our first and second line needs to be going and score. In the past we had Vanek and Pommers to win some games for us, while secondary scoring was missing. Now secnddary and primary scoring is missing and this really hurts. I think we need to shoot more and score more ugly goals. Unfortunately we were only concentrated for around 55 minutes. We need to play a 60 minutes game. The goals scored by Montreal were all somehow easy ( ok Agostini got elbowed before one of them). We already improved but we need to improve more.

Kristian Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 I'm liking the effort a lot now, and and in general I like how the team playss without the puck. The big problem now is that we have no offense, and only one line able to hold onto the puck for more than 10 seconds. Ennis' goal was a thing of beauty, and how many of those goals did we see scored on the Sabres in the Lindy years? Montreal were caught running around losing all the 1 on 1 battles.

This is where Nolan has value as a coach. The willingness of a player to sell out and engage in the 1 on 1 battles with intensity has to become a core value. There is no reason we shouldn't see that type of effort every game and by every player. The players that don't need to be shipped out asap.
wjag Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Girg's goal is the goal of the year for the Sabres and now joins the list of one of my all time favorites for a Sabre.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Girgs goal is the goal of the year for the Sabres and now joins the list of one of my all time favorites for a Sabre. That was a beauty, eh. Kids a keeper. Just watched the Ennis goal. When did he cut his hair? :(
