Doohicksie Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Watching the Coyotes/Canucks. One of the commercials in the rotation is a Yancy's Fancy ad, basically one of the ones you've seen, with Mike Robataille as the "celebrity" endorser (I would think only Buffalo ex-pats would know who he is). Kind of weird to hear about Pembroke, NY, on the Coyotes broadcast.
Weave Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Their Bergenost is probably my favorite of their cheeses.

Still weird for Yancy's Fancy's to be advertised all the way on the west coast, haha.

Not really on the same topic as you, but i once went to visit a friend in Seattle, and we went to Vancouver and stayed with one of his female friends apartments, and their "local" Fox News channel was Fox Rochester. Now... that was weird. Anybody know why that was or if it's still the case?

wonderbread Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Obviously Pittsburgh is much closer than AZ but I see yancey's in the cheese section at the local grocery store.
darksabre Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Their Buffalo Wing cheese curds make a great poutine.
wjag Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 I love their Buffalo Wing cheese. We have a few Wegmans here in Maryand and you can buy it there.
Corp000085 Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 They have a good selection of YF at the local Harris Teeter here in North Carolina. It's a little piece of home!
Jeanbe Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 I've seen it here in PHX at Fry's or Safeway. Can't remember which one and wanted to try it but I wanted just a plain cheddar to taste before trying a flavored cheese.
elcrusho Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 They have it down here in Orlando too
Weave Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Their Buffalo Wing cheese curds make a great poutine. OMG poutine! #drool Artisan cheese... Not much any more unfortunately.
wjag Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Try the Buffalo Wing cheese. Nice spicy bite. I like matching it up with a CheezeIt.

We've got their cheeses here in the grocery store, too.
inkman Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Try the Buffalo Wing cheese. Nice spicy bite. I like matching it up with a CheezeIt. I find the "buffalo" flavor too overpowering. I enjoy subtleties in flavor and this cheese screams "YOU ARE EATING A BUFFALO FLAVOR CHEESE" rather than "enjoy this spicy cheese with a hint of "buffalo flavor"
Stoner Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Of course it's here in northern PA too. Y'all send a lot of unhealthy things to the sticks!
bunomatic Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Funny thing I saw on the news thats cheese related is they're starting to de-ice roads with cheese brine instead of salt. Salt attracts animals which in turn get hit by vehicles but apparently salt is useless below certain temperatures whereas cheese brine works fine. Also using beet juice in some places. Sorry for going ot but I thought it was interesting.

When I get a block of it, I tend to polish it off in record time. I'm helped by the fact that it is too spicy for the family, so it's 'mine all mine'.
Wyldnwoody44 Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Got some awesome garlic, parsley chive cheddar cheese here in raleigh today... Also had delicious habanero cheddar as well and a dill white cheddar...... There was some YF but these homemade farmers market cheeses blew them away.
