Buffalo: 6-20-2: 14 points

NYR: 14-14-0: 28 points

Last 10: New York 5-5-0; Buffalo 3-6-1

Season series: The New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres play for the second time this season. Henrik Lundqviststopped all 29 shots in the Rangers' 2-0 win against the Sabres on Oct. 31

Big Story: Lunqvist agrees to new 7-year extension, major investment for the Rangers. The Sabres are looking for scoring from everywhere really, most notably Leino, Foligno, Ennis, and Stafford.

Predict a 2-1 game for the good guys on this one cause, well, it's no fun anticipating a loss

Sabres are the lowest scoring team in NHL. Rangers are 4th lowest. Each has a top goalie who is playing to be a starter for their team in the Olympics.

Perhaps not a lot of goals?

Sabres are rested, have a bit of confidence. Rangers could look past, distracted by Henrik's extension. There's something in the air. Shootout! Rangers 5, Sabres 4 in OT.

I can easily see it going to OT, but no way this team scores 4.

I sold tickets to my last 4 games but no luck on this one. Please try to put on some sort of entertainment value for us attending as I know they won't score more than 1 (hits, fights, numerous posts, good looking ladies on jumbotron, etc..)

Playoffs  what are those?

Apparently some teams keep playing in their own private tournament when the season is over.

Not sure if there's a qualification process, or if it's invitational

The Rangers played the Preds here in Nashville on Thanksgiving night. One of the most boring games I can remember attending. Absolutely no 5-on-5 offense. The only excitement came on 4-on-4 or power plays.

Keep your eye on Ryan Callahan tonight if you're so inclined. He's a RW, a pretty consistent 20-goal guy, Rangers captain, US Olympian, hails from Rochester, will be 29 in March and will be a UFA this summer. He's making $4.3MM this year.

I want him on the Sabres next year. Real bad. Like bringing back Nolan, this would be righting an old wrong (in this case losing Drury).

Callahan is a UFA this summer? Wow, didn't know that. I too badly want this guy in a Sabres uni. He's the exact type of player this team needs. I'd be surprised if the Rags let him walk tho.

He will be resigned, no way the Sabres will get him.

He belongs in a Sabres jersey.

Probably, but they haven't signed him yet, and they've had almost 6 months to do so. That state of play probably means that they are pretty far apart on contract numbers.

PIcked up tickets on stub hub for literally next to nothing...Hoping that the game isn't super boring, but these two teams just do not play an exciting style of hockey. My 4th game of the year, so far my record is 1-2, lets hope to hit .500 tonight

Not that it is going to happen and just SPECULATING!

What if we offered him 6mil for 5 years or something? Not like that will really hurt or effect us now or down the road and it gives us an actual skilled RW.

If he's making $4.3MM now, it's gonna take at least $6MM per year for the Sabres to get him.

Warm enough outside to make it feel like a playoff game tonight. Oh. Wait. :censored:

Ha! It was over 80 yesterday here in Fort Worth. It's now near freezing and we have freezing rain. The ride home should be.... interesting.
