Criticize the hockey team: ok. Criticize other posters: not ok. They're trying to tell you that's how we do things around here since you don't seem to realize it. Your original post was telling people they shouldn't be criticizing the players they chose. Had you refuted their point about Hodgson without resorting to telling them what they should or shouldn't say - you'd have been fine.

Nowhere did I single out any posters for what they said. I implied that some criticism is unwarranted. It happens here all the time, it's called contradicting a point! If anything I haven't really criticized anybody for their negative comments since I got on Sickinfla's case. This is a completely unjustified attack on me. Nothing I said was any different than the several other posters that hinted that the crticism of Hodgson is unwarranted. I don't see them getting called out.

This place has some serious issues abusing the double standard.

Shall we go back to the thread where somebody got on my case for criticizing Paul Hamilton? How about the one where somebody got on my case for being a broken record for mentioning Paul Hamilton for probablt a third time? If we're going to start enforcing an unwritten rule where we can't criticize other posters, I'll be glad to point out every other instance that gets overlooked. ;)

I'm sorry you missed the entire point of my post. Of all the non-stop, relentless, broken record bitching about Darcy, Myers, Hodgson, suffering...... you're going to take my point completely out of context to single me out? If you don't like it, I suggest you move on.

good luck with that. :)

On that note. I've noticed the only time you hear Hodgsons name is if he has the puck. I'm thinking its because he's a floater who waits for his team mates to dig the puck out for him. Several times during games I didn't even notice him in the game until his name came up. Love his scoring ability which is great for our team but man does that kid have to learn the defensive side of the game. ;)

Despite the recent good tidings that surround the LaFontaine and Nolan hirings, we're still the worst team in hockey by far and still on pace to have one of the worst seasons in the history of the NHL... to suggest that players on an absolutely terrible shouldn't draw criticism is a stretch. You don't get to be this bad without having multiple players who aren't pulling their weight.

I actually noticed him doing a pretty good job engaging players away from the puck in the defensive zone a couple times. He's showing a little bit of fight in him from time to time.

I've actually been surprised a few times since Ted took over. At other times I've watched him exclusively during his shifts and he just seems to float. I have seen some improvement though. I just wonder if Ted can overlook his lazy play just because he's decent at the offensive side of the puck. I'm not so sure.

It'll be interesting to see if Hodgson improves with Ted or if he gets in the dog house like GoDD thinks he will.

This is what frustrates me about Hodgson, because I believe it's what separates him from being a decent player to a very good player. I do think since Nolan took over Hodgson has been much harder on the puck in the corners and on the wall, something that you rarely if ever seen under Rolston or Ruff.
