deluca67 Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 I get why you hate the concept of Scott. But in the context of the play in question, is he wrong? Yes, If John Scott didn't know he was a marked goon than he is as dumb as he is talentless. It has nothing to do with Phaneuf. Scott brought it upon himself. Not to mention it's 2013 going into 2014, using gender related insults is lame.
Stoner Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 If you want to take a shot at the NHL, consider that apparently it would have awarded the Leafs a goal early on if the puck hadn't been kicked in, even though the whistle had blown. Weird.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 17, 2013 Author Report Posted November 17, 2013 @BNHarrington Nolan on Leino penalty: "We can't take that. We have full momentum." #Sabres
R_Dudley Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Well didn't start as well as I'd like but down 3-0 I saw a lot I like. I saw push back with the uneven officiating. I saw them out shoot, hustle and play when they needed at the end. At this point a split is good with the promise I saw. Adjustments' still to be made but trending upward on my scale.
Tondas Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Maybe Pat's relationship with Bill Daly and the other folks at the NHL offices can mend the fences so that Kaleta and Scott aren't marked men.
TrueBlueGED Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 So they really sucked through the first two periods. Nolan probably should have skated them this morning. This team is just not in game shape. It's something that will have to be built through a lot of high intensity practices. They'll look better soon. I love Ted Nolan. I think the sucking for two periods had a lot more to do with score effects than conditioning. The Leafs took it to us while close, got a lead, then laid back. If you want to take a shot at the NHL, consider that apparently it would have awarded the Leafs a goal early on if the puck hadn't been kicked in, even though the whistle had blown. Weird. Wait, what? I thought when the ref blew the whistle, the play is dead no matter what. Hell, intent to blow (insert joke here) is enough to kill a play.
kishoph Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 I'll take Stafford 1,000,000,000 times over Leino and that says a lot. Screw this #1 pick, it ain't happening. Get Leino off the team the second Armia or someone else can come up. 35 shots again and they are not boring anymore. I'm still happy and please convince Miller to stay! Princess Phaneuf!! Love IT BIG JOHN I would to see them bring up Luke Adam, see if he's ready, another big center couldn't hurt and he's been lighting it up in Rochester.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 17, 2013 Author Report Posted November 17, 2013 Hello! @BuffNewsVogl Sabres' Ted Nolan on the first period: "You find out the reasons why the record is the way it is."
Nitro60 Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Lieno and the other vets are going to notice that Nolan does not like lazy mistakes. John Scott dig on Dion made me smile. The next meeting will be fun to watch. I think they will bring back Kaleta at mid season. He has the hustle and drive that Nolan likes.
MILFHUNTER#518 Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Kris Baker @SabresProspects 1m John Scott - "All of a sudden I'm not allowed to hit him anymore. He's Princess Phaneuf. It's a joke" #Sabres Princess Phaneuff... Nice
qwksndmonster Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 They skated pretty good for the second tilt of a back to back. I love watching Tallinder play. He's no longer there physically, but he's still a good hockey player just from his smarts and savvy.

Norcal Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 I don't like his jerkoff name. I don't like his jerk-off face. I don't like his jerk-off behavior, and I don't like him, the jerkoff. Lol, agreed!!! The Leafs in general seemed to play chippy both games, almost like they didn't think the sabres could or would react. If it wasn't hockey night in Canada and all the bad press the team has had from the Kaleta and Scott incidents I have to believe it would have been a different story!!!

He got subbed by a falling/sliding phaneuf, he gets up and almost get his faced sliced off by orr and then gets jumped from behind by the other leaf idiot that got tossed from the game?
dudacek Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Hodgson did a much better job using his body. Looked like he actually threw a couple legitimate hits in the first.
TrueBlueGED Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 After review, the ref's explanation was, no goal, the puck was kicked in. That does not mean that if it wasn't kicked in it would have counted in spite of the whistle blowing. I'm 99.999999999% certain that if it wasn't kicked, it would have been disallowed because the referee blew the play dead before the puck crossed the line.

It was just a weird explanation, like the war room somehow missed the quick whistle.
darksabre Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Very interesting quotes from Scott and Nolan in this Bill Hoppe article: http://www.buffalohockeybeat.com/sabres-showcase-more-compete-in-loss-to-leafs/ Interim Sabres coach Ted Nolan had a strong message for his new team following the first period. “Ted came in and told us and said, ‘You guys are garbage,’” Sabres tough guy John Scott said.
millbank Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Hello Everyone, what a nice evening... :)
darksabre Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Hello Everyone, what a nice evening... :) You come here to taunt us after tucking little miss Dion in after playing tea? :P
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Hello Everyone, what a nice evening... :) Yeah yeah....Saturday Night Live just led with your mayor.... Man I wish Chris Farley was alive for that.
SwampD Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Hello Everyone, what a nice evening... :) Blow it out yer ass. Most favored Team status in full effect. I usually root for the Leafs, but the buttercup calls they got tonight piss me off to no end. Why did John Scott get kicked out? Because the rest of the Leafs are a bunch of pu$$ies and the refs were afraid he was going to hurt one of them? That truly was an unbelievable call. Millbank, enjoy another first round exit.
millbank Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 clearly has not been a great week on the political front for Toronto. Mayor simply a ridiculous man. As contrast , it has been a excellent week for those who support Sabres. Even tonight while a loss on the scoreboard, a win from a effort and team building perspective. I am guessing Nolan will have team playing emotional , combative hockey , creating excitement again for all teams followers. Imagine the big decision will be , does team continue on with trading and drafting youth, or fill needed holes with vets. Really believe Nolan will create a emotional environment that will put this team closer than many would have imagined.
