Lazy penalty by Leino and the PK, which was off tonight, could not undo his mistake. Chalk this up as a loss. Too bad. They had a good 3rd period.

Good effort overall despite the result. We controlled play for much of the game against a superior team on the road. Light years from what we saw earlier this season.

First loss of the season where I felt we could come back up til the end. Its a good feeling to have. Also great to see solid play being squeezed out of Stafford, Leino and Myers(playing great for the most part). Have to say Im already a huge fan of Nolans coaching effects(was too young his first go to remember him)and glad to see our guys passion out there, and them actually enjoying hockey again

They dominated that third period. Thats what I take out of this game moving forward. The penalty killed our chances but our PK was brilliant in controlling the puck for much of the penalty till the Raymond shot which deflected past Enroth off Myers stick. The first 2 periods weren't very enjoyable but I loved that 3rd.

A young, not very good team that will battle until the end?

Helluvalot better than what we saw the first 20 games, and about what I was hoping for when the season started.

THESE are your Buffalo Sabres, today!

 

Toronto is a good team, a likely playoff team, and the Sabres put a pretty good scare into the Leafs. These were two games that a couple of weeks ago not many would given the Sabres any chance in. They won one and battled back from from a 3-0 deficit to make a game of it in the 2nd.

 

It may not be much, it's a little bit hope for the future I didn't have a week ago.

I didn't get to watch last night, but Leino was definitely one of our least effective forwards tonight. If it continues, I could see Adam taking his spot in the lineup at some point in the future.

This team is just not in game shape. It's something that will have to be built through a lot of high intensity practices.

Myers is still a weak defensively, but the improvement since Nolan is stark. Whatever Ted is feeding him, keep it up. And by the way, Pysyk makes few mistakes out there. I like watching the Sabres again.
