I don't think they will either, but I reserve comment on how stupid that would be.

 

There's only one thing that would kill momentum in the fan base more than hiring Devine... And that would be re-hiring Darcy.

And they're serving Freedom Fries at the Arena now.

While the bat signal thing was funny, I just find it interesting that as long as there has been a Team Storm Cloud to criticize for criticizing the Sabres, the Sabres have only gotten worse. Seems like TSC knows what they are talking about.

Really? What "solutions" recommended by the self-styled TSC panned out? We'll be on the fourth coach in two seasons before long.

Kovalchuk took the Devils to a SC finals. That's one.

 

 

…and I'm still glad LIndy's gone, at least for now, and who knows, maybe the next GM will want him as his coach.

If things like acquiring Kovi count as legitimate suggestions... Then let's go acquire Crosby and Malkin.

He also took them to w/in 1 game of his typical 1st round (at best) exit and then bailed to the KHL dooming last season. Are you certain that's the best example in favor of TSC?

It's more than we've had in the same time,… by a lot. I'm also pretty sure that TSC was complaining about Stafford before he got his current contract.

 

It wasn't really my point, though. It has been said, ad nauseam, by certain misguided posters that TSC only complains because that's what they do and "If the Sabres won the SC they would still find something to complain about," which is nonsense. The Sabres have and continue to give us valid things to complain about,… I mean,… that is, unless you like only seeing one goal a game.

I wonder if the Prendergast hiring makes promoting Kevin Devine to GM easier.

I'm 100% convinced that they're not stupid enough to make that move.

 

I wondered something similar, but, if the hiring of Prendergast means the Sabres will cut ties all together with Devine.

If the Sabres would have gotten rid of the Status Quo when Pegula first bought the team who knows where this franchise would be right now. It couldn't be any worse. One thing which had been clear for some time is that Regier and Ruff were taking this team nowhere. It made matters even worse when Regier had the "shackles" taken off and it was confirmed fairly quickly that Regier could not comprehend what constituted value in the free-agent market.

TSC were complaining about Stafford and Leino before it became the cool thing to do. We'll be adding Hodgson to that list in a year or two. And let's not forget Myers. Who was it that started expressing concerns about his game 3 years ago. TSC has been and always will be ahead of the curve.

I definitely don't want Devine to be the new GM either, but I don't think he'd be a disaster.

I guess that's possible but I didn't think the Prendergast hiring necessarily meant anything about Devine's future with the team.

I can't help but think of all the Regier apologists when some of us were calling for his head 3 years ago. TSC added a few members this season in that regard.

It could be so much worse. Our owner is not Loria or Jeremy Jacobs where profit is the clear goal. Pegula's intentions seem to be pure, and he wants to invest not only in the team itself, but in the arena and in the community.

 

A counter point.....people slam him for keeping Darcy on staff. Firing Darcy on day 1 would have been the easiest thing for Pegula to do from a PR perspective. Firing Darcy with Lindy would have been even easier. He made the decision on his terms and timeline as I think he had to know for himself. The last thing I want is for an owner, president or GM making decisions with the intention of pacifying the fan base. For all of those who point out the Bruins as the model franchise, the year they won the Cup Chiarelli and Claude were almost run out of town.

Weave calling the Ott/Roy trade way back when, if my memory serves correctly

That's a good one, and I'm fine with how that turned out. Roy is already on his third team since Buffalo.

This season is tough enough to get through without reading tsc trying to pump their chest....I hate when members try associating with certain groups. Make ur opinion and be done with it.

I know DeLuca is the president of TSC but otherwise I have no idea who is in what group, or how the groups even exist in people's minds. (Am I in a group? Which group? And what are all the groups?)
