SabresBaltimore Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 Does anyone know why Rick Jenerette was commentating between the benches last night? I don't ever get the MSG-B coverage with my hockey package so I'm not sure if they said something in the pre-game show or during the intermissions or something.
Assquatch Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 The elevator was out. He joked to someone that he should call the game from between the benches and the next thing he knew, the training staff was making him a helmet to wear so he could.
SabresBaltimore Posted November 13, 2013 Author Report Posted November 13, 2013 Haha, seriously? That's funny. I saw the picture of him with his helmet with RJ on the top and was trying to figure out why..

MattPie Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 I didn't think of it at the time, but they should have set RJ up with a helmet like the guy from Babyland. It'd be hands-free:
ROC Sabres Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 I heard this morning on hockey hotline that he has a problem with his foot that limits the amount of stairs he can walk up. Even with the elevator ride he still has stairs to climb that are difficult for him.
Sabre Dance Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 I hope it is still some years off, but when RJ retires, no one is going to have a resume like his - doing play-by-play for the same team for 40+ years, coming up with tons of memorable quotes (They're good....SCARY good!) and now broadcasting the game from between the benches. Simply awesome and probably never to be duplicated..... :clapping:

josie Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 I still love how eerily appropriate it was that Nolan's kid came flying in and landed on RJ. Hullo, foreshadowing!
Stoner Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 I still love how eerily appropriate it was that Nolan's kid came flying in and landed on RJ. Hullo, foreshadowing! Wow! Double wow!
IKnowPhysics Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 The red noncontact jersey RJ wore the following game was pretty funny. Seeing RJ in his twilight goof around, and be goofed around with, makes me happy.
