Lorenzo Von Matterhorn Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 @SabresPR53s #Sabres GM Darcy Regier announces forward Patrick Kaleta has been placed on waivers. Wow that escalated quickly.... Edit: Darcy on the move @BuffNewsVogl 5m Darcy Regier on waiving Kaleta: "“This was a move we thought was necessary to help Pat change his game and preserve his career ..." (1/2) @BuffNewsVogl4m “We believe in Pat as a person and we hope he will continue his career in our organization and, if the circumstances are right ... (2/3)" @BuffNewsVogl3m "... with the Buffalo Sabres.” (3/3) Waiving of Kaleta comes after organization ripped across NHL for being out-of-control club.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 What kind of waivers? To send him Rochester, or is he released? Does it really matter. Even though he has gumshion, I have thought for some time that Kaleta does not belong on the Sabres, or in the NHL.

Assquatch Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 It's all the same waivers. He's released if someone claims him and can go to Rochester if not.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Well, the good news is that it's been 3 years and the $1,000,000+ for the "sick kids" still hasn't been tapped.
bunomatic Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Wake up call for Mr. Kaleta. Mr. Kaleta you asked for a wakeup call ?
JJFIVEOH Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Stafford is still on the roster, correct?
matter2003 Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Tropp fills the same role and isn't going to be a 20 game suspension waiting to happen
billsrcursed Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Stafford is still on the roster, correct? Yep, which is also part of the reason why your GDT is a hot sloppy mess leading up to the game. I'm beginning to not understand what's going on anymore. Carry on Buffalo, carry on.
darksabre Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Good luck to Pat. I hope someone picks him up. He's a blood and guts guy suffering at the hands of the DoPS and a league with an anti-Sabres agenda.

He's a blood and guts guy suffering at the hands of the DoPS and a league with an anti-Sabres agenda. He wised up too late. I appreciate when he calmed down and really did lay it all out on the ice....one of the few over the recent past to do so. You can't erase history I guess.
Jsixspd Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Sad... but it had gotten to the point where he couldnt blink but that he was penalized, suspended ad nauseum
Assquatch Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 “This was a move we thought was necessary to help Darcy change his game and preserve his career. We believe in Darcy as a person and we hope he will continue his career elsewhere, if the circumstances are right, within the division" - Sabres owner Terry Pegula on waiving Darcy Regier.

bunomatic Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 It would be funny if the ducks picked him up then played him tonight.
Stoner Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Good luck to Pat. I hope someone picks him up. He's a blood and guts guy suffering at the hands of the DoPS and a league with an anti-Sabres agenda. Anti-Sabres agenda is funny. The Sabres can screw themselves without help.
darksabre Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Anti-Sabres agenda is funny. The Sabres can screw themselves without help. Of course they can. But the disproportionate punishment of Kaleta over the years is undeniable.
LoveAndWarrener Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Watch Boston pick him up It'd be great for him. He could get away with a lot more there.
IKnowPhysics Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 I wonder if he was, pardon the pun, on thin ice with management after the last suspension, or if this is all reactionary to the media ######. I also wonder if Scott will face the same. In any case, Patty bled Blue and Gold and was willing to (try to) do anything for this team. He worked hard to be better.
TrueBlueGED Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Of course they can. But the disproportionate punishment of Kaleta over the years is undeniable. Most of his punishments have been well earned. Besides, that would show an anti-Kaleta agenda more so than an anti-Sabres agenda.

I think he was evolving into a pretty solid fourth liner. Can skate, can check. If the guy had any shot at all, he'd be a top-6 forward. But he doesn't. To me this is reactionary and further shows that Darcy and co don't know WTF they are doing. The ONLY way this makes any sense at all at this point in the season is if they feel like he is setting a poor example for the younger guys.
