3putt Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 First post. I just heard on NHL network that the first round pick is protected by the Isles if in the top 10. Anybody else hear this?

Anybody else hear this? Yep: http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/22157-vanek-traded-to-islanders-for-matt-moulson-1st-in-2014-2nd-in-2015/page__st__440#entry519565
Hoss Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 It is. Top 10 protected. But it doesn't matter because they likely won't be there. If it's top 10 this year then we get a first rounder in next year's strong draft anyways. For questions like this, post them in the threads talking about the trade already. I learned that pretty quickly.
thesportsbuff Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 This has been discussed in other threads, but yes. The Islanders can defer the pick to next year if they finish with a Top 10 pick this year.
3putt Posted October 29, 2013 Author Report Posted October 29, 2013 Duly noted. Thought I had read through that thread. Apparently i was mistaken.
thesportsbuff Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Welcome to the board by the way. Go Sabres!
3putt Posted October 29, 2013 Author Report Posted October 29, 2013 Thanks. Great place for news on the team.

Andrew Amerk Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 No. I don't do fantasy. That's what SHE said
That Aud Smell Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 stick around, 3putt. this is not only a good place for current news on the team -- it is also the best place (IMO) for analysis and opinion on the team, and that includes all blogging and MSM. there's a bit of separating wheat from chaff, but it's a worthwhile exercise.
