Derrico Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Let's get ready for full on tank mode now..... Quote
Trettioåtta Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 I wonder who will get the second A now Quote
dudacek Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Best of luck to Thomas. Buffalo's best skater of the past 10 years. How soon until the best Sabre of the past decade follows him out the door? Quote
Robviously Posted October 28, 2013 Author Report Posted October 28, 2013 Aaron ONeill @AONeill263m @JeremyWGR one last time, Vanek is so lazy he got traded inside the state so he didn't have to apply for a new drivers license. Quote
LoveAndWarrener Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 I've got to believe Moulson is going to be traded, too. In a vacuum, this is the right move, but it doesn't change the fact that this team is serving its fans and its veterans a double-decker sh-- sandwich. Quote
WildCard Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 I HATE this trade only because of Moulson. The picks were inevitable but I wanted a prospect to grow with our pool of prospects and youngings. So what happens here? Moulson signing an extension? Trading him too? He's a free agent at the end of the year as well He hasn't said he's going to go to minny no matter what like Vanek did, so there's that. He'll get a higher return at the deadline for that, at which point i expect prospects, because we already have a good amount of draft picks. Side note: Anyone know what that other Minny pick was from Pommer's trade? Quote
Robviously Posted October 28, 2013 Author Report Posted October 28, 2013 Let's get ready for full on tank mode now..... Not sure I agree. The more we ship out the old guard, the more the young guns (Girgensons and co.) inherit the team. Quote
LoveAndWarrener Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Maybe Moulson and Miller can be packaged in a trade for a Guinness. Quote
Member Berries Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Im good with this. At least we got a return at all, all things**cough**Darcy**cough** considered. Quote
K-9 Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Thank-you, Thomas. Good luck with the Islanders and then Minny. GO SABRES!!! Quote

Lorenzo Von Matterhorn Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Also why did the Islanders NOT trade for Miller? Scoring wasn't their issue goaltending was wow I'm so shocked Quote
Lanny Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Side note: Anyone know what that other Minny pick was from Pommer's trade? 2014 2nd rounder Quote
Derrico Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Wonder if Moulson will be in Buffalo in time to go tomorrow night? Quote
Trettioåtta Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Same hollow feeling that i got when Pommers was traded. Kind of sad really. Goodbye Thomas. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Not sure I agree. The more we ship out the old guard, the more the young guns (Girgensons and co.) inherit the team. Yes, but a bunch of kids providing better than bottom-5 results over the course of the season is pretty unlikely, no? Quote
26CornerBlitz Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 @BuffaloSabres #Sabres GM Darcy Regier will be available to the media tonight in a 9:15 p.m. press conference. Follow our Twitter for updates. Quote
Robviously Posted October 28, 2013 Author Report Posted October 28, 2013 Yes, but a bunch of kids providing better than bottom-5 results over the course of the season is pretty unlikely, no? I think we're still looking at a bottom 5 finish, but I don't think things are about to get worse now. Quote
K-9 Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 I wonder who will get the second A now I think you mean second "C." Give it to Girgensons right now. He's the right stuff. I don't care how old he is, either. This is the young turks' squad. GO SABRES!!! Quote
Brawndo Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Interestingly this was posted back on July 13 Sabres Front Office @SabresFront 13 Jul #islanders offer for vanek: Matt moulson + 1st for vanek #sabres Darcy mulling it over and not happy with it Quote
Robviously Posted October 28, 2013 Author Report Posted October 28, 2013 ANOTHER Sabres goalie chimes in: Martin Biron @martybiron432m Having played with Matt Moulson, I can tell you that he is a pure goal scorer. Sad to see Vanek go but this is very good for the Sabres. Quote
sabre snipe Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 count me in as one who likes the trade as well...as long as we can either re-sign or trade moulson. well see, but i like the picks. terrible trade for the islanders IF vane flees to minny or elsewhere tho Quote
WildCard Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) It's their 2nd rounder in 2014. 2014 2nd rounder Gracias. So, two second rounders in the next two drafts, and (for now) two first rounders in the most immediate draft, one being a top 5 pick? I like that, a lot. Hard to believe Darcy won't package that 2nd rounder and that Isles first to move up a little if the opportunity is there. Edited October 28, 2013 by WildCard Quote
Hawerchuk Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Thank you Thomas! He was a great Sabre. Too bad Buffalo never got him a real center after Briere. Good luck 26! Quote
