respk Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 I can't see the Sabres trading this years #2 for an unknown first rounder in next years draft. Who ever they draft this year becomes one of the 2 most talented forwards in the organization and one of 2 forwards with the natural ability to be a 1st liner. I don't think the Sabres can pass that up. Quote

26CornerBlitz Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) Scouting Combine expected to draw 119 prospects Many of the top players on NHL Central Scouting's final list of North American and international prospects eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft will be front and center when the NHL Scouting Combine takes center stage later this month in Toronto. Dan Marr, the director of NHL Central Scouting, is anticipating the attendance of 119 players, including 101 North Americans, at the Combine from May 26-31. There are 18 international prospects, including two goalies, expected to attend. All NHL teams will have the opportunity to sit down for interviews with the invited prospects from May 26 through May 30. The medical examinations of each player will take place May 30 and the fitness portion, headed by Dr. Norman Gledhill and his York University Fitness staff in Toronto, will be held May 31 at Toronto International Centre. 2014 NHL Combine invites Edited May 15, 2014 by 26CornerBlitz Quote

carpandean Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) But if we wait that long season ticket prices will go up by 6(.4%)=.24%! 6(.04) = .24 or 6(4%) = 24% (Actually, with annual compounding, 4% per year for six years works out to be 26.5% higher. 1.04^6 = 1.265.) TrueBlueGED Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 @Tank...Pronman may currently work for ESPN, but he was at Hockey Prospectus for a long time. He's legit. Actually, ESPN has a lot of good hockey writers on their Insider stuff (which I also hate): Pronman, Eric Tulsky, Tom Awad. Some others too, I think. Quote

I know, but just the ESPN tag with it turns a lot of people off. Worth noting he didn't rank any goalies in there, but that's likely just because many people don't like to rank them together. Does anyone know how to get tickets or how to get into to this years draft? I've been. It's fun, especially for hardcore hockey nerds. Tickets are free. Go the first night for the first round (of course), and then for a more relaxed atmosphere, check out the second day for a while. Wear your Sabres stuff so you can find other Sabres fans to chat with if you'd like. Reading that link makes it sound like tickets will be in demand. That definitely wasn't the case in Los Angeles (2010). Quote

I actually had tickets to the 2012 draft but then a family reunion was scheduled the same day so the two people I was going with went to that instead. EDIT: holy crap time flies. Could've sworn it was last year's draft that was in Pittsburgh which is the one I had tickets to. Edited May 19, 2014 by Tankalicious Quote
