WildCard Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Any word on Zadorov/Armia? I don't expect them in the game obviously, but anybody know how many weeks/days they have left until they can play?
26CornerBlitz Posted October 15, 2013 Author Report Posted October 15, 2013 Any word on Zadorov/Armia? I don't expect them in the game obviously, but anybody know how many weeks/days they have left until they can play? I believe I heard last week that Zadorov was ready to play if needed. I'm not sure why they haven't sent him to the OHL with London since there's currently no room on the roster for him. Armia isn't ready AFAIK.
Pville29 Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 I'm pretty sure Patrick Roy is watching Grigs situation very close and he's telling the avs to go after him as soon as the sabres give up on him. Roy will make him a good player with his young avs team.
sicknfla Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Its only the shadow of death; they are not out of it. I thought it was interesting when RR complemented Girgs and Flynn on there energy etc.; however, he said nothing about Grigs game. The one thing RR has been successful at is getting production out of young players. Grigs seems to be a player that needs some hard lessons; however, that is o.k., he can handle it. If he can't handle it, then he'll be sent to the AHL which wouldn't be a bad thing. I really hope that last part was a joke.
TrueBlueGED Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 I really hope that last part was a joke. Another puppy bites the dust :(
Guest Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 No point in watching another lackluster 3-1 loss. I'm going to the Preds - Panthers game tonight instead. I recommend those of you who will be watching drink heavily to help numb the pain! There is a baseball game and a college football game on tonight in which both will be much more entertaining than watching this trainwreck we call the Buffalo Sabres.
LGR4GM Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 So its better for a players development to just throw them out there even when the coaches see him struggling and not producing. I forgot, this works all the time and never screws up a kids development as a player. I also forgot that the Sabres were a Professional hockey team who should be doing whatever they can to win hockey games and not a development camp or a minor league franchise where players should be sent to where they can develop their skills. I have no problem with him sitting per se (I'm more in favor of letting him take some lumps this year, but I can see the other side)...but sitting him after a game in which he got better in the areas Rolston wanted him to get better just doesn't make any sense to me. Post one, see post 2. Grigorenko was engaged, making plays and battling last night. He showed off his hands and his ability to get pucks to open teammates. If he played that game every night we would be exstatic. So what is his reward? "Sorry kid we need to bench you for John ###### Scott... I am sure you understand" Hockey Hell needs to freeze over sooner rather than later. The good news is Rasmus Ristolainen will be back in the lineup. His game has improved since the first week and he is becoming more physical and confident. I look forward to his improvement.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 15, 2013 Author Report Posted October 15, 2013 @Schopptalk Paul Hamilton raising questions on some of Ron Rolston's decisions. @WGR550
Sabre Dance Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 There is a baseball game and a college football game on tonight in which both will be much more entertaining than watching this trainwreck we call the Buffalo Sabres. The only Face Off I'll be watching tonight is the SyFy show about special effects makeup.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 15, 2013 Author Report Posted October 15, 2013 I have to say, and I'm sorry to say, last night was the first time EVER that I've left a game early. I left after the Pominville goal. Sorry Sabres. You don't even entertain me anymore. @TheBuffaloNews Sabres ratings are down sharply from the start of this season http://blogs.buffalonews.com/talkintv/2013/10/tv-viewers-agree-sabres-unwatchable.html …
JJFIVEOH Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 I put little to nothing into what Hamilton says nowadays. He's turned into another hack just like Sullivan and Harrington. It's unfortunate, I used to like Paul and looked forward to his input whether I agreed with him or not. He used to treat players with respect and earn their trust. The way he stabs them in the back now, if I were a Sabre, I'd blow him off.
Rox11 Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 I'll be watching - I'm up for more disappointment. My new Sabres mantra for '13 - '14 ... KEEP CALM AND HAVE A COCKTAIL. All I want is a hard fought, showing like they WANT to play ....

Lorenzo Von Matterhorn Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 How long before we get a shakeup of the lines I'd like to see something different than the random switching of the 3rd & 4th line centers & Scott entering every other game. How bout something like this: Ennis-CoHo-Vanek Ott-Grigorenko-Stafford Foligno-Girgensons-Flynn Haven't seen Z get a chance to play center yet are we planning on using him as a winger for now? I'd like to see him get a shot Edit: left out the K in Grigs name, hate looking at a misspelling of one of the player's names
Hawerchuk Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 We're not losing yet. Its still 0-0. Oh wait, it hasn't started yet... my bad

Huckleberry Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Trade myers for Yakupov and get him on a line with grigorenko and girgensons, that will be fireworks ;D
Peppy22 Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Grigo plays 3rd line then 4th line, sits a period, plays first line, is a healthy scratch, plays 3rd line again, then first line, sits a period again, plays 2nd line and is a healthy scratch again... Something like that... HOW!!!!! is he supposed to find any kind of rhythm in the NHL. Put him on a line with girgs and flynn and let them play 20 games with 15+ min of ice time... ffs!!!

He's an offensive player so let him be creative. Sure he has to work harder but don't stifle his skills. We aren't winning anyway!!!

Eleven Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Verlander's looked good; the Tigers have runners at the corners in the eighth. I'm supposed to watch what right now?
wjag Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 PP is humming along at their normal efficiency.. Only gave up 2 short handed SOGs on that last one.
