Stoner Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 Yes, I guess it's analytics, but it's a pretty basic stat that is sorely lacking in the hockey world. Beyond ending up with raw scoring chances for and against by period, ES vs. PP etc., we could also develop a more refined version of plus-minus, if someone wants to put the time into it. Scoring chance is defined differently here and there. Some count a missed shot as a chance, some don't. Dan Bylsma does. The area of the ice you look at is pretty much agreed on ("home plate"). I think long screened shots need to be factored into the mix, because they so often sneak in. dudacek Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 Should be easy to track the Sabres chances. Just watch 26.
