JJFIVEOH Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 oh no you di'int. There's nothing almost humble about this at all. Look, rook, you ###### up. Ride pisshole for the night and skate with the team again tomorrow. Damn! Lighten up there buttercup. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where do they find these retards that call in to WGR?
Iron Crotch Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 Coaching has nothing to do with this team's state. It's a roster made up of: Pluggers: Kaleta, McCormick, Scott, Tropp, Ott AHLers: Flynn, Porter, Floaters: Stafford, Hodgson, Grigorenko Rookies: Girgensons, Larsson, Armia, Risto, Guys who are lost: Ennis, Myers, Weber Good players: Pysyk, Vanek, Foligno Haven't figured out mcbain yet I don't care what anyone says... Our best player is The Hoff! (you forgot him)
Eleven Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 I'm no rook and and take your pisshole mind to another forum or another team. I've watched this team when the Aud had only 11,000 seats and no what Buffalo Sabres hockey should be and what it shouldn't be. This team couldn't skate with the expansion team, which only had Perreault as a top of the line skater. Getting a detail of a player move wrong is minor, and all the posters who think that fact should keep someone from posting are just arrogant buffoons. I do hope you're not one of those. Yeah, I'll get right on that. He was yanking your chain big guy. If you are going to make grand proclamations you are going to have to grow a thicker skin methinks. Yup.
DFITZ1 Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 Yeah, I'll get right on that. Yup. Good enough. Let's shake hands and call it a night.
inkman Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 I don't care what anyone says... Our best player is The Hoff! (you forgot him) He seems to be decent. On this team he's Bobby Orr.

Rolston coached two seasons in the AHL and barley gotten into the playoffs both years. First year got swept and last year lost in 4 games? Goes to the NHL and has only won 7 of his 36 games in regulation. At some point, we gotta wonder if he's way out of his elements and stop making excuses for everyone. Possibly pull the cord on the project before it becomes a even bigger disaster.

Cody McCormick, Matt Ellis and Luke Adam were his centers for most of last year. Yikes!!!

Cody McCormick, Matt Ellis and Luke Adam were his centers for most of last year. Yikes!!! I am not ready to pull the plug on RR, and he isn't fully responsible for this as he did not build this squad, and it is a pretty pathetically build team, but this is a results driven business and this dude is just consistently not winning games. I am not ready to quit on him, but i'd be lying if i said i wasn't worried about his coaching style.

dudacek Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 Game thoughts: I always post before reading the thread, but it is pretty safe to assume Myers has been bashed big time before I got here. I will stand by my opinion that he has been better — more stable — this year than the way he started last year, but he was full value his minuses tonight. His biggest problem is his inability to lock up the man without the puck down low. You never see him leaning on his check, or tying up the guy's stick, as the puck arrives; he's always lunging too late. His play on the third goal typified the Sabres loss. The team was finally having some success in the offensive zone; when they fell behind he felt he had to turn up the juice on the counterattack instead of being patient and trusting the system. Bad pinch, backbreaking goal the other way. Plus minus is a faulty statistic, but it can get to a point where the numbers can't be ignored. Myers is not alone in that. I love Mike Weber, but he was out-of-control tonight; sometimes you can try to do too much. Early on I thought the Ennis line was going to do something good; As soon as we fell behind they packed in. The above was more or less true for a majority of Sabres; yes the second period was full of penalty trouble and the Jackets iced it 38 times in the third. That's no excuse. Has Patty Kaleta drawn the other team into a penalty yet this year? Yes, the fight was nice, and his ice time has been limited. Still, he feels restrained. Five games might be too early, but I would give the kids no more than four or five more. If things don't change, get them out of this train wreck. Larsson and Girgs haven't embarrassed themselves, but neither have they shown the ability to make any kind of impact. You could say the same for Risto as well. I'd rather have them polish their offence by dominating the A than being support players on a team racing to the bottom. Grigo too, but we all know that story. We've just got too many guys who aren't quite ready. Yes, I've seen enough to say I'd rather protect the kids and give the likes of Flynn, McBain, McNabb, Kaleta, Adam and Colton Gillies the support player roles this year; make some once-and-for-all decisions on those guys, slide into a top-three pick this June and cross my fingers on nabbing the offensive talent we desperately need. Play the crap out of Myers, Foligno, Hodgson, Ennis, Pysyk, Weber and even Enroth; focus your attention on making them the best they can be and call the kids up late after we dump Vanek, Miller and possibly Ott. Back to tonight, as mentioned above, the Sabres actually had their best offensive zone play of the season in the first. Of course, they had to go and complement that with some of their worst in their own zone. As for some positives, Cody Hodgson was great tonight; far and away the team's best player. People say he will be lost without Vanek. Tonight Thomas be apologizing to Cody for not burying a half-dozen perfect passes. Hodgson kept his feet moving and also did some good penalty killing. Pysyk had a few more blemishes to his game than we've seen earlier, but he continues to look like an NHL defenceman; Rolston needs to find a way to play him and Ehrhoff every shift. At some point in the off-season I posted this season had the look and feel of 1986/87. I wish I was wrong. Unless, of course, it leads to Pegula blowing up Darcy once and for all, the same way the Knoxes blew up Bowman back in the day.

Two or less Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 And do what? Losing is contagious. Get me a guy who "players will go through a wall for" as Pierre Lebrun said tonight about the Aves and Patrick Roy.

That really doesn't say much for this team after the lackluster effort I saw out of him tonight. His play on that first shift of the 3rd period being but one example of a guy going through the motions, whiffing at the puck as opponents skate by him , weak on the boards, just looking uninterested. The one memorable play he made was the long pass to Vanek. To be honest I missed the first period so maybe he wowed you then but I really never saw much. He's been better in my books by far.

SABRES 0311 Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 Does anyone else feel like they are watching the Major League movies with they way things have gone so far?

Hodgson to me is the most frustrating player to watch. He gets so many point blank opportunities each game, which he positions himself very nicely to get them. You can just tell he has a very high hockey IQ, but, he just seems to be a second or two too slow each time and keeps wasting them. Will his high IQ game ever translate into on-ice production?
SABRES 0311 Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 I honestly cannot remember, besides LR getting canned, why else was RR hired? I think a roast is what this team needs. One night at FNC, each player gets hit with the top five fan comment, joke, or whatever.

sicknfla Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 I may be in the minority here but I can't see DR making it to Dec.1. This is far worse than TP envisioned. TP may not be a smart hockey guy but he is a business man. If he has one ounce of competitiveness in him he has had enough. You can't have management bleed your business like this. Sooner, rather than later, he is going to pull the plug. He has to save face. There is absolutely no conceivable way that this organization could not be in worse shape than it is right now. Your best players are in their final year. Your recently signed long term guys (Myers, Hodgson) suck. Your top pick from a year ago doesn't know how to skate. Your top prospects appear to be average at best. It goes on and on. Complete f'ing joke.

I think I know the lame shift you were talking about and you are correct. And yes, I was looking for bright spots in a dismal evening. But if you get a chance to watch his play again in the offensive zone, you will see several times where he made quick, hard passes to put Vanek in scoring position. These were passes that not many guys (certainly no other Sabre) could have made. He could have easily had three or four assists if Vanek buried those. He also showed some uncharacteristic burst at times and got into position for a few good chances himself. In a team that creates no offence, those plays really stood out to me. I'm a little surprised no one else noticed, but I guess I shouldn't be given the overall mess the night was.
Jeanbe Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 im in the west coast Las Vegas. Cox communications. It's channels 671-684. I only get the Jax feed... Again!! That sucks. I'm in Phoenix but Directv broadcasts 638 with Center Ice.

The best way to build a successful team is through the draft. Can you point out to me how this is any different than we expected to see a few months ago? Maybe you're watching a different Hodgson than I am.
