I don't know what the fu?k they're telling themselves in the administrative offices, but if it isn't clear by now they're all wrong in all of important directions, I don't know what to say.

Miller played to the whistle.

They won the third period, and I hope the Blackhawks don't take the Sabres seriously.

Because if they don't, it will be the Sabres first victory.

His "moves" on his breakaway were less than awe-inspiring. With the Sabres sub-lethal goals for average, he won't be missed. Time for Terry and Ted to start blowing this disaster up.

He scores with that quite often, that's the last area I'd choose to complain about tonight

I said this the last season and I will repeat it now. Many GMs form a team that is a projection of their own personality. Darcy loves guys who can skate and make pretty passes. He does not appreciate the grinders and guys who play a tough brand of hockey. He acquires those types to appease the coaches. Until Darcy is removed, the Sabres will be a disappointing product on the ice.

He doesn't? Have you seen who he's drafted the last two years?

It's almost all blown up already. Once Miller and Vanek are gone it's going to be worse. I thought this was bad. They won't score any goals when Vanek goes. Lost in the shuffle is Steve Ott. He can sign where ever he wants at the end of the year.

Just like Miller and Vanek. We get it. This team will god forbid actually be worse without those 3. I still think Ott has a 50/50 shot of re-signing. At this point, I don't really care either way.

How can you defend Regier on anything right now after this epic display of the pathetic?

Gerbe 3rd goal of the season...

I doubt he'd have done anything if he were still here. The release and small signing put a new fire under him, plus his size hurt us due to Ennis already being small too.

It's more like life support. To blow it up, Darcy and Rolston go, bring in Laviolette as coach. Promote the asst GM to interim GM (unless Terry and Black have been smart enough to find an experienced candidate ready to come in). Trade Miller and Vanek for a goal scoring leader, buy out Myers, send Weber to the minors or Russia, send Grigorenko to Rochester (he can develop better their than in Buffalo). You guys can flame me all you want, but I could make better moves on a whim and prayer, than this front office can make with stat sheets, scouting reports, try outs, drills and whatever.

It is fine to "rebuild," but you shouldn't have to field the worst team in the history of modern hockey to "rebuild." And, if you're going to completely gut the roster of veteran talent, then why hire a rookie coach with no NHL experience? Wouldn't a bunch of kids learn best from a long-time veteran coach?

Posted

It's okay to rebuild but you need a couple of solid vets to help out the youngsters. You can't let your 2 best players get moved and have nothing for the kids to build on.

Nobody has gone anywhere yet; why extrapolate out to that scenario?

This team can't be worried about Thomas Vanek or Miller leaving, they need to keep their focus.

I was glad to hear Razor say between periods that Vanek interrupted the interview and said something to the effect that he had to get into the locker room and talk to his team.

That was prior to the third period.

This team can neither skate, nor make pretty passes. Jeff Tuel made better passes last week.

Who is defending him? I was commenting on an obviously inaccurate statement.

15 seasons of drafting...he has a record. Last 2 seasons drafts don't change it. He is in butt saving mode. The Sabres have missed the lay offs 7 out of 15 seasons. He is the reason the Sabres are is the rebuilding mode. Hope the is gone by next season.

Quit making sense. You will only get a head ache.

Has anyone else noticed that Vanek seems much more at ease this season so far? No more hangdog looks at the bench. No more pouting after a botched scoring chance. He seems loose. I'm glad to see it. He doesn't seem weighed down by the game this year. And it has affected his play in positive ways. He seemed a real threat to score nearly every shift tonight. He was a bright light among dim bulbs out there.

Interesting considering the team around him. No pressure I guess.

Sunshine and puppy dog thought on a gloom and doom night.

It's "accept".

And the period goes inside quotes on this side of the Atlantic.

I was too depressed to bother with the original transgression.

well, you can't send Grigo to the AHL.

Why the feck can't fans enough to be on a forum not know this?

With the Sabres less than glorious goal production, it most certainly is. Yes, I have seen him score on that shot. Likely, so did their goalie and he was ready for it and easily defended it. This whole team takes too long to shoot the puck, and when they do it's a weak shot. No one timers, slow moves around the net. Physically outplayed and outhustled in front of the net and along the boards. They look more like they're skating in molasses. There's no one on this team to defend except the goaltenders (as far as I'm concerned Miller should be charged 2 goals tonight and Weber the other 2. Weber deserves 2 assists on the BJ's stat sheet).

Did that really just happen again?
