kishoph Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 I don't know if this should be considered a rumor (I looked for a rumor forum), but WGR is reporting that Matt Hackett has left Rochester with his equipment. Does this mean that one of the Sabres goalies is injured or possibly traded ? Hackett was not on the plane to Pittsburgh, but Pittsbuirgh's not that far away, where he couldn't get there early enough for the mornings skate. Again, I'm just reporting what I heard on WGR about 3:00 am.
thesportsbuff Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 certainly an interesting development, though i wouldn't be surprised if he's just going to back up Enroth tomorrow and give Miller some rest after stopping 45 shots. but also, pure speculation here, a few times throughout the game i thought miller was a little slow to get up after stopping a puck, laboring a bit like you see goalies do when one catches them where theres little padding. perhaps an injury.
Two or less Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Paul Hamilton called into WGR around 130am after they arrived in Pittsburgh (he flies with the team), and said both Miller and Enroth were on the plane and healthy. He also said there was no Hackett but did see Sulzer on the plane. So, this call up is very bizarre.
inkman Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Hackett was yanked in last nights 8-1 blowout (he gave up 6). So maybe that has something to do with it?
inkman Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Hackett on ice for Sabres. Must have been the fact he only gave up 6 last night to get the call
SwampD Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Hackett on ice for Sabres. Must have been the fact he only gave up 6 last night to get the call Miller traded?
darksabre Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Miller traded? I think he's just going to nap until the next game.
inkman Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 I think he's just going to nap until the next game. Good advice for all Sabres fans
TrueBlueGED Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Good advice for all Sabres fans He said until the next game, not through it :P
spndnchz Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 Ryan has a "not too bad" lower body injury.
kishoph Posted October 5, 2013 Author Report Posted October 5, 2013 Ryan has a "not too bad" lower body injury. Probably from carrying 18 guys on his back last night for 60 minutes.
spndnchz Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 Probably from carrying 18 guys on his back last night for 60 minutes. Golly. Never heard that before.
LGR4GM Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 John Vogl @BuffNewsVogl So goalie coach Jim Corsi just escorted Matt Hackett to bench, tapped him on shoulder and sent him to dressing room in middle of practice. I should note Ryan Miller is currently not practicing. Not sure what is up but hopefully nothing serious.

If smiling I'm assuming he is going back to Rochester or has been cut/traded. If Frowning then I'm thinking he was just told to go to the locker room to rest up cause he is getting the next start
LGR4GM Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 John Vogl @BuffNewsVogl Sabres have wrapped up practice, and Ryan Miller is now on the ice. idk what the hell they are doing. Miller maybe just getting some work in to test his injury and Hackett may have gone down who the hell knows. It is moments like this where the Sabres twitter could be helpful and be like hey Hackett headed down to Rochester.

LGR4GM Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 They expect Miller back so Hackett has packed his gear so he can head home to Rochester.
apuszczalowski Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 They expect Miller back so Hackett has packed his gear so he can head home to Rochester. So he had a smile on his face while leaving the ice.............
spndnchz Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 Any update from Sabres re: Hackett? Back to Rachacha
