Trettioåtta Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Tallinder.. why now? Cos Stafford screwed up
Campy Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Over/under is 30 games on how long it'll take to get used to seeing Hank wearing # 20...
Nitro60 Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Get out played you take a bad penalty. Not a smooth move by a veteran.
Hard Rain Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Miller's kept us in this. Let's get one here.
Iron Crotch Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Faceoff in the Detroit zone. Too bad we have CoHo taking the draw against one of the NHL's best. Meh.
Doohicksie Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 It isn't that they lost. It's that they looked so.... toothless.
Guest Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Well, the last five minutes were exciting anyways.
CallawaySabres Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 the best way to describe that game was that my heart rate stayed the same from start to finish - zero emotions
Campy Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 That 6 on 5 wasn't pretty. Couldn't even gain the red line for a dump in... Well, they showed some life after 40, hopefully they can build on it.
Tom Backyard Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Just a better team. Pretty simple there.
Jsixspd Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Well, that was a sad effort tonight. The Number 1 line did nothing. Stafford starts out the season -2! Myers -1! Rolston needs to review that statistic with both those players carefully
Grinder Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Cos Stafford screwed up Again. This guy has easily been the worst skater on either team all game
biodork Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Faceoff in the Detroit zone. Too bad we have CoHo taking the draw against one of the NHL's best. I haven't been able to get video since the 2nd, but I know Hodgson won 3 draws in a row during the power play in the 1st period, so he's no slouch in the circle.
LGR4GM Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Time will tell. Long road ahead. I hope someday we have the skills but right now we are green and you can see it.
Iron Crotch Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Here are my thoughs on the game... Bim comes Ben comes Bim brings Ben's broom Ben brings Bim's broom Ben bends Bim's broom Bim bends Ben's broom Bim's bends Ben's bends Ben's bent broom breaks Bim's bent broom breaks Ben's band. Bim's band Big bands. Pig bands Bim and Ben lead bands with brooms Ben's band bangs and Bim's band booms
Guest Sloth Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 What a great pulled goalie setup. Not one shot registered. Sabres were terrible in the neutral zone. What a surprise....
TheMatrix31 Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 You can see the lack of experience showing. I'm glad Miller kept us in it, but the offense HAS to be better. Has to. Worthless PP, worthless play at the end there. Tough place to open the season. Hopefully we can build on it Friday.
Nitro60 Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 The team played well 5 on 5 but absolutely stunk out the building on the PP. You should score when it is 5 on 3. I wonder how Rolston is going to explain this to the press. After a shaky 1st period, I think the young guys settled down and played better.
hockeyhound Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 If Stafford could have just stepped up his game; he could have been the difference maker.
inkman Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 I read Vogl's tweet about how they're actually, on average, no younger than they were last year (like .1 years younger). Given that we have Girgs and Risto, I wonder why -- McBain? The boring piece is why it's only 2-0. Tallinder is like a hundred years old
darksabre Posted October 3, 2013 Author Report Posted October 3, 2013 That's one down. Glad Girgensons scored. Get those rookies playing.

The coach has to explain to the press that his team is so lacking in actual NHL talent, that they can't score on a 5 on 3?
