Nope, that quote's from the real John Scott, just watch the presser http://video.nhl.com...nsole?id=446777

I'm starting to think that he is the fake John Scott ;)

That made my day.

Whoa!

EDIT: that's the most i've ever listened to scott. i'm sure it's been stated elsewhere, but that guy has an agile mind. may it survive his playing days -- he's really quite interesting to listen to insofar as the game goes.

He's a smart guy. A mechanical engineer if I'm remembering correctly.

Yup, ME from Michigan Tech.

That said, his years at MT weren't spotless from poor decision making.

i did. The part that got me was the "none of this came from me" So learn how to read I guess should be my reply to you.

That was obnoxious to me. Own you're opinion. If someone doesn't like it so be it. But don't say something and try to wiggle out at the same time.

So if a poster says he's got a problem with the board that he didn't start, that's an obnoxious statement? Are you joking?

That's a little disappointing, but yes, still hilarious.

the quote almost certainly came from the fake john scott twitter account. which is very funny. but not real.

No it didn't. John Scott said it in an interview. I sat here and watched him say it.

it's a shame that the less noble elements around here tend to chase him away from time to time. yes, it's a sabres board, but it is a fairly enlightened one -- and the board is much better off with millbank's periodic input. the guy knows the game in a very real way.

No. It came from a locker room interview after practice yesterday. I heard the audio clip of it.

Nevermind. I see it is well covered already.

Well...he technically still has to remember it......... And everyone really is grumpy and on edge. Stay away from those fault and coast lines the next few days.

Agreed. You think everyone is at each others (electronic) throats now, just wait until the Sabres start 1-6-1 :bag:

Pretty much what I thought, clearly this has been a long off-season, when people can get this worked up over a pre-season game.

Lost in all of this is the great job John Scott did in the big picture. With one move, he took out Toronto's prize free agent acquisition for 10 games and their top scorer for a couple more. I'll take that any day.

Clarkson sure cost his team a lot. He didn't even get in on the real action. Saw he is forfeiting ~269K.

You're forgetting his assist.

Guess who had already picked the Nov 15th game. ME!

At least I won't be overnight in the "Toronto hotel" if something happens. haha

I've already got my reservation at the Hyatt.

Hahaha, nice.

Most enjoyed lines (spoilers?):

...

Clarkson (striking a heroic pose): No time for that now. PHIL KESSEL IS IN TROUBLE!

...

Rolston: Don't you worry about what it was.

...

Scott: I've just always found that any discussion of justice is complicated by Plato's Euthyphro dilemma, which states that if we are to have independent moral standards then some actions must be right or wrong in themselves independent of a higher authority.

...

Jonathan Bernier: Hey, anyone want to fight?

I can't get it up anymore. Am I supposed to feel something about an assinine line brawl in a preseason game? Fan shrinkage, I guess.

Buffalo News headline, by the way, says "everyone" is talking about the game. Is it ever because the hockey is good?

Idk, I don't care anymore. Scott challenged Kessel, Kessel bailed and went axemen on him and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I think Toronto is the only ones up in arms over this.

Here is the full quote from Lupul the moron:

"You don’t expect one of the top-five toughest guys, biggest guys in the NHL, to do something like that," Lupul told assembled Leafs media. "I’ve never seen that in all the years I’ve played. It’s pretty embarrassing for him and I’m sure he doesn’t feel well about it now.

"The thing about a guy of that size, it’s not like Phil could possibly fight him and get out of it unhurt. The guy's outweighing him by close to a 100 pounds. It’s not possible. So what are you going to do? You're going to whack him with your stick. I think it’s a whack in the shin pads, a hard whack. But it could've been a lot higher and with a lot of players it might've been a lot higher. [For] a lot of guys in the league, if Scott drops their gloves and comes at them like that, he might be missing his front-row teeth. You can say it’s a hard whack and I know they’re upset about the whack but it’s in the shin pads."
