Claude_Verret Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 Because this franchise is in desperate need of more exciting first round memories? Do you realize how sad it is that many (most?) of the most famous plays in Buffalo Sabres history -- including Hannan, May Day, and Derek Plante -- took place in the first round of the playoffs? Let's stop groveling for scraps and pretend like we're fans of a real live professional sports team that tries to win championships. Yep, the main reason why the May Day goal was so huge is because it ended nine straight seasons of either missing the playoffs entirely (2/9) or losing in the first round (7/9). Some of us have already suffered enough.

sicknfla Posted September 27, 2013 Author Report Posted September 27, 2013 And the premise of this thread wouldn't do anything to change that. Neither would a top 5 pick. If it were only that easy.
