FWIW, I have trees and buildings in my SW sky (which is also the direction required by DirecTV) -- enough so that I didn't think I was going to be able to get DTV -- and it still works fine. Let the installer give it a try.

Cancel your cable and have her call TWC...see if she can get them to pay the ETF on Dish and then have the cable re-activated at your house under her name. Obviously this is only if the dish won't work.
