carpandean Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Stafford is an RW. Are you saying he played on the left side for a biit? Well, I and circa-2010-carpandean are telling you that: Who knew that, after all these years, the key to fixing Vanek-Roy-Stafford was to make it Stafford-Roy-Vanek!

shrader Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Getting him acclimated to his new AHL linemates methinks. Kind of expected if the plan is to move Foligno onto a scoring wing. Exactly, you are more than likely looking at Rochester's #1 line.
TrueBlueGED Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Exactly, you are more than likely looking at Rochester's #1 line. He said Armia was playing with Zigomanis, not Zemgus ;)
darksabre Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 He said Armia was playing with Zigomanis, not Zemgus ;) Well yeah, Zemgus will be in Buffalo.
TrueBlueGED Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Well yeah, Zemgus will be in Buffalo. Previous post aside, I honestly don't think he will be. Didn't Darcy say there's no point in him playing limited minutes, so he'll have to beat someone out? I don't see that happening, just isn't ready. It's not like he set the world on fire at the prospects tourney to make me think his playoffs last year was anything other than a hot streak.

I would have zero issue with him being subbed in for Drew Stafford.
TrueBlueGED Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 I would have zero issue with him being subbed in for Drew Stafford. Rather than start a Drew Stafford argument, I'll just say I think you know that's exceptionally unlikely to happen.
dudacek Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Looks like Rolston has set up early camp to answer these questions: 1) Is Larsson ready to hold his own on a co-second line with Stafford and Ennis? 2) Is Risto ready to play top six? 3) What is the fourth line: Tropp/McCormick/Kaleta or Flynn/Porter/Girgensons or some combination of both? 4) Can Foligno play on the first line?
darksabre Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Rather than start a Drew Stafford argument, I'll just say I think you know that's exceptionally unlikely to happen. I know it's unlikely. And I hate it.
LGR4GM Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 But I thought Armia was better than Bobby Ryan? (Sorry -- but at the same time I feel you need a bit of suffering for that one.) I said will be so
inkman Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 3) What is the fourth line: Tropp/McCormick/Kaleta or Flynn/Porter/Girgensons or some combination of both? I hope it's the McCormick line. Z playing 4th line minutes is worthless and that line as a whole brings nothing a NHL team needs to the table.

TrueBlueGED Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 I know it's unlikely. And I hate it. I think you have a secret crush on Drew. You're so anti-Drew that there's obviously something there. It's okay to admit, we're here for you! :P
K-9 Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 no no the tropp line is too slow but more mature and physical so i would say combo of the two and Girgs does not fit on either no Please forward this to Rolston. He's wasting his time! GO SABRES!!!
darksabre Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 I think you have a secret crush on Drew. You're so anti-Drew that there's obviously something there. It's okay to admit, we're here for you! :P I want to like him! He's a funny guy! He's probably a good locker room guy. But good lord is he bad at hockey.
inkman Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 the tropp line is too slow Maybe it just me but I think McCormick, Tropp and Kaleta are all above average skaters
26CornerBlitz Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 FYI: The Sabres' preseason game against Toronto on Saturday, September 21st at 7 PM will be televised on NHL Network-US as well as CBC.
tom webster Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Maybe it just me but I think McCormick, Tropp and Kaleta are all above average skaters Not just you, I was going to post the same thing. Kaleta may be the fastest skater on the team or just behind Ennis.
SwampD Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Not just you, I was going to post the same thing. Kaleta may be the fastest skater on the team or just behind Ennis. i also believe this to be true.
Flying V Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Are we going to sign colton gillies
darksabre Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 i also believe this to be true. I will agree as well. It's too bad he doesn't have hands to match.
nfreeman Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 I said will be so I must admit that I listened to a podcast interview with Darcy on the way home tonight and he said something like Armia is the most talented forward on the team. It mighta been a little shot at Vanek though. Looks like Rolston has set up early camp to answer these questions: 1) Is Larsson ready to hold his own on a co-second line with Stafford and Ennis? 2) Is Risto ready to play top six? 3) What is the fourth line: Tropp/McCormick/Kaleta or Flynn/Porter/Girgensons or some combination of both? 4) Can Foligno play on the first line? Good post, as always. If even a couple of these questions are answered positively, it will be pretty exciting. As for #3: Both DR and RR have spoken highly of Girgensons in the last day or 2. no no the tropp line is too slow but more mature and physical so i would say combo of the two and Girgs does not fit on either no Well thanks very much, Mr. Poopypants. Maybe it just me but I think McCormick, Tropp and Kaleta are all above average skaters FYI: The Sabres' preseason game against Toronto on Saturday, September 21st at 7 PM will be televised on NHL Network-US as well as CBC. Not just you, I was going to post the same thing. Kaleta may be the fastest skater on the team or just behind Ennis. I will agree as well. It's too bad he doesn't have hands to match. The line is absolutely not slow, assuming Tropp isn't impaired by his injury. I have heard Lindy describing Patty as one of the fastest skaters on the team. He might be #2 indeed this point, especially with Sekera gone,
