bunomatic Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Wow. nice opening post. Thanks for the info. I'm excited for this tournament already.
IKnowPhysics Posted July 22, 2013 Author Report Posted July 22, 2013 Thanks! Me too! 2010 kicked ass from open to close and really did wonders for the game. I'm really looking forward to seeing the sequel to that.
Two or less Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Why is Pominville listed in "Sabres at the Olympics"?
IKnowPhysics Posted July 22, 2013 Author Report Posted July 22, 2013 Derp, fixed. He's technically eligible for competition for Team USA, despite being Canadian born; he has dual citizenship and chose his IIHF path when he chose to play for Team USA at the 2008 World Championships.
SwampD Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 I would think that Ehrhoff will play for Germany as well.
26CornerBlitz Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 I would think that Ehrhoff will play for Germany as well. Sulzer too.
26CornerBlitz Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Germany did not qualify Forgot about that...they were eliminated by Austria IIRC.
LGR4GM Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 I have to say that I am excited for young Enroth. He idolizes Lundqvist and with his performance in the IIHF World Championships you have to assume that Enroth with be Lundqvist's backup. Should be a really great opportunity for him and I think Sweden has some momentum going into this.

LastPommerFan Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 I'd say Z is a lock for Latvia. He's the best Latvian Player since Helmuts Balderis. Will they still be coached by Ted Nolan? Lundqvist is average and it's time that Sweden gives Enroth the starts. You are my hero.
LGR4GM Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Lundqvist is average and it's time that Sweden gives Enroth the starts. That would be freaking awesome! I find this even more amusing considering I am arguing you currently can't prove Enroth is better than Miller lol.
dudacek Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Lundqvist is average and it's time that Sweden gives Enroth the starts. :clapping: Outstanding.
LGR4GM Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 :clapping: Outstanding. I think 11 may have the post of the month right there.
Two or less Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 I'd say Z is a lock for Latvia. He's the best Latvian Player since Helmuts Balderis. Will they still be coached by Ted Nolan? Yes, and then we can start the Nolan to Buffalo in some capacity rumors.
Stoner Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 I was hoping we could get into this as winter approaches. Anyone got the line combos?
IKnowPhysics Posted July 22, 2013 Author Report Posted July 22, 2013 I was hoping we could get into this as winter approaches. Anyone got the line combos? Some of the links, esp Team Canada projections on TSN, include possible lines. Rosters of course aren't finalized yet.
spndnchz Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Hey Lindy! We're gettin' the band back together!
LGR4GM Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod 9s The 5 goalies on Canada's orientation camp roster are Corey Crawford, Braden Holtby, Roberto Luongo, Carey Price & Mike Smith Luongo's got this locked up...
LastPommerFan Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Is the Russian Team still required to have some minimum number of KHL players? also are they allowed to just play without defensemen?
26CornerBlitz Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Crosby, Toews lead Canada's Olympic camp roster: http://www.nhl.com/i...s.htm?id=678667 US Camp Roster Set: http://olympics.usahockey.com/news_article/show/272491
Eleven Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Lots of upstate NYers on that camp roster. Also, USA is poised to have the best goaltending trio in the tournament. Right now, I'd go with Quick-Miller-Schneider.
Iron Crotch Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Crosby, Toews lead Canada's Olympic camp roster: http://www.nhl.com/i...s.htm?id=678667 US Camp Roster Set: http://olympics.usah...cle/show/272491 The set of defensemen that the Canadians have to choose from is ridiculous. I like the USA goaltenders more than the Canadian group. How do you pick 4 centers from Bergeron, Crosby, Towes, Staal, Tavares, Thornton, Stamkos, etc.? (BTW - no Pommer)

(BTW - no Pommer) They could very well have some of the Centers play wing and Pommer could still make the US team if he's playing well this upcoming season.
