thewookie1 Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 Here you go: Yes, the refs are dressed like cows. I don't think Roy reacted well at all. It wasn't the loss that set Roy off, it was the cow refs Quote
tom webster Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 Thats what was reported yesterday, but then this tweet came earlier this morning... So, Ellis didn't go? Sorry did not see your earlier post. Wonder if they changed their mind or Ellis just did not get there in time. Quote
bunomatic Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 Roy video The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Just like dad. If this kid ever makes it to the big show he'll be eaten alive. I love his moxie but he needs to learn to control that temper. Quote

SwampD Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 So, I'm guessing nobody told him that you can't take your gloves of to fight? Quote
Eleven Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 So, I'm guessing nobody told him that you can't take your gloves of to fight? I'm sure someone did. And yet he screwed up. I'm really not sure I want this kid heading west on I-90. No self control is a bad thing in the big league. Quote
Weave Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 Wow. what a douche nozzle. Just like his old man. Quote
Eleven Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 Wow. what a douche nozzle. Just like his old man. Yeah, I'm not happy with his reaction at all. It was immature, unnecessary, and not in the spirit of being part of a team. Passion isn't everything. Quote
Koomkie Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 looked to me like the other player kept punching him in the face while the refs had his arm tied up. kind of f%$#ed up. although he did go nutso down the hall...id still put a jersey on him. Quote
Jeanbe Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 Roy acted like an ###### and probably was raised a spoiled brat too. Wonder if he helped his equipment guys clean up? Probably not. A$$HOLE Quote
darksabre Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 I don't see what the big deal is. Quote
Eleven Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 I don't see what the big deal is. No one else does, either; that's why we question why he went off like a drunk banshee. Quote

Lost his cool over something that happened that he felt was unfair I guess. Not like this doesn't happen in the NHL. At least he didn't try to fight a reporter or something. Quote

At least he didn't try to fight a reporter or something. It rarely happens in the NHL and he needs to grow up if he wants to make it west of Rochester. This was in a meaningless tourney; do you really want him going off the rails in the playoffs someday? Edited December 27, 2013 by Eleven Quote
ubkev Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 I don't see what the big deal is. Me neither. I loved it. But I'm a ###### psycho, so that kinda devalues my opinion. Quote

Tukka Rask blows up like that when he gets pulled and he doesn't even wait to get to the tunnel. I'd like to see Jason Pominville wreck up the place when he's mad. Quote

Pominville is more mature than that. And it does happen in the NHL--and, of course, more often with goalies. But it doesn't happen often, and that's the point. If Freddy wants to play with the men, he needs to start acting like a man. Quote

Eleven Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) Lindy Ruff once tried to fight Bryan Murray through the glass. Emotional outbursts have their place in sports. This isn't World Series of Poker. ONCE. In fifteen years behind the bench (and I'll bet that there are more than several here who considered him passionless--Lindy, of course, hates emotion), he went off the rails ONCE. Get mad? Sure. Go completely off? Not in the National. Name the players that have had tantrums like that (like Roy's) more than once. postscript: How freaking awesome would it have been if Ruff and Murray actually had fought?! 26CornerBlitz Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 @frederickroy91 I wanna apologize for the way i left the ice last night. My emotions got the best of me n were out of place. I learned my lesson ... @frederickroy91 And I will make sure this doesnt happen again. #SpenglerCup Quote

It was more than once, but who cares anyway. I like knowing that my team actually gives a crap. I'd rather have a team full of Roys than a team full of Hechts. Maybe Roy's blowup was for show to light a fire under the rest of the team. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 I like it. He is just like his father ... very emotional and hates to lose. The Sabres could use more of that attitude, although the theatrics should be toned down. Quote
