Penguins goalie loses stick whilst short handed, Amerks pass the puck out of the zone

 

Winnipeg fans are not allowed to bring sticks, pucks, hands, short hands, Penguins, or Amerks to tomorrow's game.

AMERKS COME UP SHORT IN 3-1 LOSS TO BABY PENS

 

Despite Kevin Porter’s first goal of the season, the Rochester Americans fell to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 3-1 in Wednesday night action at The Blue Cross Arena. With the loss, the Amerks drop to 7-5-2-2.

Jamie Tardif and Nick Crawford added assists on Porter’s goal, and Matt Hackett made 21 saves in defeat for the Amerks. Jeff Deslauriers stopped 22 of 23 shots in net for the Baby Pens to earn his league-leading 10th victory, while Cody Sylvester, Tom Kostopoulos and Jayson Megna scored for the visitors.

Amerks drop 3-2 decision to Comets

 

Pascal Pelletier scored the game-winning goal with 3:42 remaining in regulation as the Utica Comets rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Rochester Americans 3-2 in the first half of a home-and-home series Friday night at The Blue Cross Arena. With the loss, the Amerks fall to 7-6-2-2 on the season and 3-1-0-0 against the North Division rival Comets.

 

Dan Catenacci and Chad Ruhwedel scored for the Amerks, Johan Larsson tallied two assists and Joel Armia and Mike Zigomanis also added an assist each. Nathan Lieuwen made 28 saves in net for the Amerks, as his record dropped to 3-3-0 this season. Larsson’s assists mark his first points in two games with the Amerks so far this season.

Larsson with 2 assists in 2 games

Having been to the last 2 games I can tell you that Armia is vastly superior in talent than Larsson. I'd be surprised if Joel isn't the next forward called up.

The #Amerks have signed goaltender and #ROC native Billy Sauer to a PTO.

#Amerks G Matt Hackett is ill. Thus, Walworth's Billy Sauer has been signed to a PTO on an emergency basis.

Billy Sauer played at McQuaid, then in USHL before 4-year career at Michigan. Spent 2009-10 through 2011-12 in ECHL (plus 15 AHL with LEM).
