Leading that league at 20 isn't all that much though. Still, they always throw a couple spots to a "higher profile" local kid, so that's about all there is to see here.

Yeah...if he had 8 points or something, I would be having flashbacks of Larry Quinn suiting up with Drury.

It's Ted Black's son.

He at least was a good player in that league. When I first saw his kid was on one of the teams, I had a "you gotta be Shtn me" moment. But at least you can argue merit.

Generally, they've always invited a few local kids IIRC.

Man I look through those photos and get a completely different feeling than I have in years past. There's some real hockey players in there.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

I'd love to see more video, but Zadorov looks like he has great skating form. Ristoleinen has some real man size to him in the upper body, not skinny like Myers. And Girgensons, who looked good in Rochester, still looks mean.

It was interesting that last year’s two number one picks were the stars of Wednesday. Zemgus Girgensons was far and away the best player of the morning session while Mikhail Grigorenko was far and away the best player of the afternoon session.

As it should be. Although some deeper analysis of why they were far and away the best payers would have been nice.

Agreed. He's on WGR now talking about what he saw today. Talked about how physically mature Girgs is and how much better Grigs skating is now compared to last season.

Just in case it was missed before, does anyone know why Foligno isn't a part of this camp? He's still on his entry level deal.

I believe it is for prospects 20 and under... I think Foligno may be to old but I don't know that is official... CHZ might.

I actually think I am more excited to watch the Sabres play next season than I have been for a very long time.

For some reason it's stuck in my head that you're only allowed to participate in three and he's already done that. Not sure if that's 100% true.

Rasmus Ristolainen WILL NOT be an #Amerk this upcoming season. Says he has contract with his Finnish League team. It's #Sabres or Finland.

I wonder if Darcy is re-thinking his selection of this guy? I know I would be. Evidently the entire staff was caught by surprise.

If he can't play he's going to take his puck and go home. Well, what do you expect from a 17 year old?

You realize this isn't uncommon, correct? Joel Armia is in the same situation. This doesn't change anything.

Europeans have to be 18 to play in the AHL. You want a 17 year old in the NHL?

You would go back and not pick one of the best players in the draft because he can't play in Rochester the first year? You expect an 18 year old kid to make an NHL team his first camp and if he can't then he's a bust? You're ridiculous.
