26CornerBlitz Posted July 10, 2013 Author Report Posted July 10, 2013 @kevinoDandC Rasmus Ristolainen WILL NOT be an #Amerk this upcoming season. Says he has contract with his Finnish League team. It's #Sabres or Finland.

It's #Sabres or Finland. Would have liked the 2nd sentence to be more along the lines of he's too good to not make the final roster.

Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 ###### great Meanwhile.....in Dallas, the 235lb Russian Bear is signed on for 3 years..... Hopefully this means nothing. I was down there this morning. Different look with Ron running it. How do you mean? If you don't mind....

If you don't mind.... That's nice why do we care? Because we could have drafted him? We didn't because I bet his work ethic is spotty and I think his skills are likewise spotty. I like ristolainen regardless of what nichushkin does. I am sure that Ristolainen will be given the oppurtunity to make the team and sign a 3yr entry level deal. It sounds like he is quite good from what I have heard out of development camp this morning.
ubkev Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 ###### great Would you rather make $70,000 in the AHL or a couple hundred grand playing in Finland?
26CornerBlitz Posted July 10, 2013 Author Report Posted July 10, 2013 He's obviously a closet Russian. Nyet!
inkman Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 Would you rather make $70,000 in the AHL or a couple hundred grand playing in Finland? I'd rather watch him 15 minutes from my house
spndnchz Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 BTW, park in the ramp. Tell them you were there to watch the Sabres on your way out. FREE. I'm not so sure on the AHL thing.
ubkev Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 I'd rather watch him 15 minutes from my house Yeah, I thought about that after I responded.
LGR4GM Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 I think Ristolainen will make the team and be given a 3yr 1.25mil deal

Guess we'll know soon enough: @kevinoDandC #Sabres said last week that Rasmus Ristolainen had no contractual obligations in Finland. He says he does. Hoping for definitive word today.
Stoner Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 Lots of Darcy picks turn out to be deuces..... Nice to see Ted Black's son playing center. Paging special prosecutor PA.... Maybe I'm missing the joke. His son is a Sabres prospect?

Stoner Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 http://www.easternju...players/1581885 Cool. As long as he belongs there, fine.
MattPie Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 Cool. As long as he belongs there, fine. He's over a PPG, but not exactly a prime league. I'd guess he's filler.
carpandean Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 Anyone know if there's a restriction on cameras? If someone wants to bring their collection of big white (fast pro) zooms can they or is just compacts and camera phones?
shrader Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 A friend works in the EJHL. I'll get his opinion on Black.
MattPie Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 A friend works in the EJHL. I'll get his opinion on Black. I'd be curious about the level of the league, too. EDIT: Nevermind, looked it up. Two levels below USHL.
shrader Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 I'd be curious about the level of the league, too. EDIT: Nevermind, looked it up. Two levels below USHL. They have produced their fare share of players though. The two most recent first rounders that come to mind are Girgensons and Charlie Coyle. They're a feeder to the USHL and NCAA mostly. Anyway, is he definitely Ted's son or was it a joke? My friend wasn't aware of that link. But anyway, league MVP as voted on by the coaches, so it seems like an earned spot.

When I first saw his kid was on one of the teams, I had a "you gotta be Shtn me" moment. But at least you can argue merit.

Still, they always throw a couple spots to a "higher profile" local kid, so that's about all there is to see here.
