26CornerBlitz Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Knew something was up with two D picked in the 1st round.
Eleven Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Solid player; we'll miss him. Anyone know much about McBain? (Other than the fact that he finally got Mendoza.)
chileanseabass Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 McBain is similar to Sekera... Quick, good with puck, decent shot, not overly physical. He was a stud with Wisconsin, had a few good years in Carolina, then fell apart last year.

tom webster Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Dreger implies that Carolina wanted Sekera and 8 for 5th. I think I would have preferred that.
Robviously Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Dreger implies that Carolina wanted Sekera and 8 for 5th. I think I would have preferred that. If that was the trade and we didn't do it, EVERYONE should be fired.
spndnchz Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Dreger implies that Carolina wanted Sekera and 8 for 5th. I think I would have preferred that. Rutherford said Canes offered fifth pick and McBain to Sabres for Sekera and No. 8.
Weave Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Rutherford said Canes offered fifth pick and McBain to Sabres for Sekera and No. 8. OK that hurts.
shrader Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Rutherford said Canes offered fifth pick and McBain to Sabres for Sekera and No. 8. I have a hard time picturing that as the kind of deal that would be made in the top ten of any draft. Seems like a bit of gamesmanship from Rutherford.
26CornerBlitz Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 @ice_chip Rutherford says can see Sekera, who has 2 yrs left on contract, being paired with Gleason.
Claude_Verret Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 The Canes fans I know will be thrilled to be rid of McBain.
Iron Crotch Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Sekera was simply the odd man out with all of the youngsters moving in. Not sure why we wanted McBain though (?).
spndnchz Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 I have a hard time picturing that as the kind of deal that would be made in the top ten of any draft. Seems like a bit of gamesmanship from Rutherford. McBain was out of shape last season. He wasn't worth giving up the 8th pick for.
stenbaro Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 I have a hard time picturing that as the kind of deal that would be made in the top ten of any draft. Seems like a bit of gamesmanship from Rutherford. If thats true then Regier keeps making himself look more and more like the NHL version of Cleveland from Family Guy every minute.."Yeh my wife cheated on me and i told her it was my fault"....
qwksndmonster Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Rutherford said Canes offered fifth pick and McBain to Sabres for Sekera and No. 8. This seems absurd. Who wouldn't do that?
Weave Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 I don't like this one bit. Dude, you OK? You aren't having any bad thoughts are you? You can talk to me. Don't do anything stupid.
stenbaro Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 McBain was out of shape last season. He wasn't worth giving up the 8th pick for. I wouldve been happy with Sekera and the eight for Carolinas pick in the first rd...Sekera was too cold most of the time..He had his moments but his mistakes and games of nonexistence greatly outweighed his worth
