DHawerchuk10 Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Good pick! Risto is exactly what the Sabres are missing in their pipeline. #16 has to be a forward now.
Hoss Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 What a ###### joke. All the talk about a need for a big forward and we pull this ######. What a joke. And to make it worse my satellite just went out before the pick was announced.
TrueBlueGED Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
... Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 WTF! The Sabres don't need another offensive defenseman. I hate Regier.
spndnchz Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Ristolainen http://youtu.be/Qb8L_G4PtPc http://www.elitepros...hp?player=43497 http://youtu.be/ReDJ3bg1Gds
North Buffalo Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Still need centers who can skate... Another year of boring low scoring hockey. Gotta get rid of Darcy...
Trettioåtta Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Ristolainen and Fucale? Why have no proper trades happened?
LGR4GM Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Here is the scouting deal with Risto. He likes to style his game like pronger and he has played with Armia (from what I gather). http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/04/18/rasmus-ristolainen-2013-nhl-draft-prospect-profile-9/
IKnowPhysics Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Eh, ###### it, I'm in. Let's see what he can do.
TrueBlueGED Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Who needs elite offensive talent, anyway? Bleh
Robviously Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Sabres chickened out. I can't believe Darcy Regier didn't do something bold. LOLOLOLOL
Stoner Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Sabres chickened out. I can't believe Darcy Regier didn't do something bold. LOLOLOLOL Why spoil the fun?
LaLaLaFontaine Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 I hoped for Nichushkin, now we drafted a defender. I am not happy.
Weave Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Hockey Prospectus nailed us in their mock draft. http://www.hockeyprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=1549
Robviously Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 The broadcast is funny. After each of the first 7 picks, they had a ton of tweets at the bottom of the screen for each about how awesome they all were. They didn't really have any for us. Maybe they couldn't find any. EDIT: And now, while waiting for pick #9, they're back to tweets about how great Edmonton and Calgary's picks were.
Stoner Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Loved Terry pushing Ted out of the way to get in the photo. There has to be a pecking order for accountants, lawyers and oil and gas men.
inkman Posted June 30, 2013 Author Report Posted June 30, 2013 Sabres chickened out. I can't believe Darcy Regier didn't do something bold. LOLOLOLOL Hey man just have fun.
Weave Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 From Hockey Prospectus: 8. Rasmus Ristolainen, Defense, TPS (SM-Liiga) Ristolainen had a quality season in Finland, where he often logged tough, heavy minutes for TPS. That is an impressive role for an 18-year-old defenseman in that league. He is not a flashy player, but he does everything well. He best skill is his hockey sense. He thinks the game at a level well beyond his years, and he does not make many mistakes on the ice. He is an aware, effective defenseman who can close gaps with his body or with his stick. With the puck, he shows calmness, but he can process the game quickly when the situation calls for it. He can man the point on the power play. He is a solid to above-average skater (I have heard an NHL scout classify him as high end in that area). His puck handling is at a similar level; he can flash significant offensive ability, but the bulk of value will come from his work in his own zone. To that point, he will lay the body, and he can provide quality hits. He could fast track to the NHL quicker than a typical defense prospect.
