People parade Vanek as a consistent 30-goal scorer but don't want a consistent 30-goal scorer in Ryan. Vanek is better than Ryan, but Ryan fits a "rebuild" better

If Vanek wasn't a pending UFA at the end of the season I doubt there would be much talk of moving him. His age and the prospect of a long term mega contract to keep him fuels the discussion.

Haha thanks. I just think it's ridiculous that he always seems to be the first player people want to trade. One of our top defensemen and he gets zero respect. Well I won't stand for it! Harrumph!

i agree. zero respect.

so now.....lets get some freakin trades going!!! something has to go down today right?! RIGHT?!?!?

So nothing happening as of yet on the trade fronts today, Sabres or otherwise?

Surprised a little actually. I'd of thought there would be some teams making deals this morning, maybe the afternoon and evening hours will prove more fruitful.

If the Canucks want one more run at a Cup with the Sedins, it may make more sense to deal Schneider for a good return rather than paying someone to take Luongo. Granted the franchise would be an utter disaster in a few years, but I could see it happening.

Been talking to a lot of Flyers fans at beer conference in Philly, most are not excited about the prospect of trading for Miller.

Their first shot at a real goaltender and they don't like it. Idiots.

It seems like it's more that they are burned out on goalie acquisitions. They feel that whoever they get will eventually implode.

I would take Clutterbuck for a 2nd without blinking. I love that guy's game. He'd be a fan favorite here before he played his first game.

Troof. If you want a team full of Steve Otts, you take Cal Clutterbuck.

As long as we aren't winning a Cup next season we might as well have some fun :pirate:

Then watch the real thing.. The WWF. It will be far more interesting than any Sabres game, or perhaps , "Life Above the Artic Circle" or " Lucy and Her Loom" or "Sweaters from Heaven" I fear it will be about ten years of having fun watching Clutterbuck clips as highlights.

Speaking of that, last night was the 15 year anniversary of the greatest Hell in the Cell match ever. Take a moment to watch the insanity. It just doesn't happen like this anymore.
