TrueBlueGED Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 The Oilers top prospect and a 2nd pick for a second line winger? That's a good deal. Vanek should be worth that and a little more. Paajarvi isn't even within spitting distance of the Oilers top prospects. Plus there's the minor detail he's played 163 NHL games.

Hoss Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 Paajarvi isn't even within spitting distance of the Oilers top prospects. Plus there's the minor detail he's played 163 NHL games. He had a very solid year for a 19-year-old rookie. Then he played parts of the next season and then played on the team this year. I wouldn't really consider him a prospect anymore, but he's definitely got a lot of potential.

dudacek Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 I don't think the Perron deal kills Miller to St. Louis, but i think it makes it far less likely. It reduces their cap crunch and lessens their great supply of tough-to-play-against forwards - two the three factors that favour the trade. The biggest factor - Miller is a helluvalot better then Halak - still stand.
CheckingLine Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 Teams can't negotiate to players that are not their's prior to trades. The NHL doesn't allow it. Essentially, you're trading Miller, Ennis (or Stafford+Pysyk or McNabb) and two 2nds for Yakupov. Meh. Miller most likely has EDM on his no trade list. So you have to find another partner willing to give a 1st for Miller.
thewookie1 Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 Proposed Trade: ST. Louis: Gets: Miller + negotiation for extension prior to deal. Gives: 2014 1st + Halak Benefit: Franchise goalie w/ potential to get them the couple extra Ws in the playoffs the have lacked. Edmonton: Gets: Halak + Ennis or Stafford + Pysyk or McNabb + 2014 1st STL + (2) 2nds Buf Gives: Yakupov Benefits: Goalie tandem upgrade + equivalent of (3) 1sts + (2) 2nds. Included are potential top 4 D- man, former 20 goal scorer, and (3) of the top 75 players from 2014 draft. Buffalo: Gets: Nail Yakupov Gives: Miller + Ennis or Stafford + Pysyk or McNabb + (2) 2014 2nds. Benefits: World Class top 6 forward + ammo to resign Vanek + credibility for next year's free agent class. You are over valuing Yakopov a bit there. He's had 1 good year and I doubt he gets leaps and bounds over what Ryan got in his deal. I could see St. Louis's 1st rounder, Ennis, and McNabb fetching Yakopov I say this seeing as Ennis is already proven he'll be a scorer for multiple years now while Yakopov has not. However I could see StL 1st, Stafford, McNabb, 2nd rounder for Yakopov & a 3rd rounder or Stafford, McNabb, (2) 2nd rounders for Yakopov and Hemsky(Salary dump)
Lanny Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 He was the 1st overall pick a year ago, that's still about his value. You need to factor in potential, contract status, and years before they hit unrestricted free agency as well as the teams need or desire to actually trade the player in question.
Huckleberry Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 oilers need defense badly , i can see us sending myers in any deal.
G-Daddy Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 oilers need defense badly , i can see us sending myers in any deal. Tallinder would have to go with him.

LastPommerFan Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 If only there were one thread for proposals and another for actual trades... BORING.
qwksndmonster Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 Yakupov'll likely bolt to the KHL if the Sabres trade for him. What young player with a promising future wants to ruin their career in Buffalo?
Hoss Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 eberle would be more likely And more desirable, in my opinion.
26CornerBlitz Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 @RenLavoieRDS Blackhawks trade Daniel Carcillo to Kings for a conditional pick.
qwksndmonster Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 @RenLavoieRDS Blackhawks trade Daniel Carcillo to Kings for a conditional pick. A really unfortunate circumstance of the Hawks winning is that little ###### gets his name on the cup.
Jeanbe Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 A really unfortunate circumstance of the Hawks winning is that little ###### gets his name on the cup. +1
inkman Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 A really unfortunate circumstance of the Hawks winning is that little ###### gets his name on the cup. Little?
Hoss Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 I'd put Dan Carcillo's name on the cup 20 times if he helped Buffalo win the cup...
qwksndmonster Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 I'd put Dan Carcillo's name on the cup 20 times if he helped Buffalo win the cup... Only if all other 19 are with Buffalo. Little? Fine. For you, I'll say that he's a calf-sized ######.
shrader Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 Fine. For you, I'll say that he's a calf-sized ######. Calf as in baby cow or calf as in inkman's weapons of mass destruction? I want to make sure I get the scale right here. Then again, the question might be moot since inky's calves probably are the size of calves.
Hoss Posted July 18, 2013 Report Posted July 18, 2013 Only if all other 19 are with Buffalo. I wouldn't care if just one was with Buffalo. Heck, I'd watch the Bruins ten-peat if I could watch Buffalo win just one.
