I can't describe how much I loathe all of this talk. None of these dumb ass rumors are going to.com true yet individuals here create ######in websites completely dedicated to this fiction. Adam is the only part of that suggested traded that you questioned?

I would laugh my a$$ off is they deal him back to the Flyers:

@DarrenDreger

Bobrovsky being offered to teams by the Blue Jackets. Told he wants $6 mil per. Columbus in market for a goalie.

I still think this is the perfect team to deal with, and if they really do want a goalie, Miller and Vanek could both go here. If the Sabres are talking moving Myers, it's almost a certainty Vanek and Miller will move as well. Maybe they are actually about to do something smart and clear all that cap space to make a run at a few guys in an oversupply year of FA.

Only issue is I don't see anyway that Miller would want to go there if there are other deals/places on the table for him.

This is what makes this place, this place. Well done.

whats laughable are online personalities. like insulting someone while using the anonymity of a computer to hide behind. I agree I went on a rant. did I ever come at you like that? I don't down right hate him. I just think he is not up to the task in this situation.

I'm doing what you are doing. But it's okay for you but not me? When I said "hate" I meant hate the job he's doing, not hate him personally. But I think your reasons for disliking his resume are flimsy. The man has made mistakes but overall he has done well considering the pressures that have been on him. Pressures like bankruptcy, having his scouting department replaced with a VCR, etc.

As for complaining he values his players too much, that is the nuttiest criticism ever. He drives a hard bargain and he's been successful doing that. And that's a problem? Seriously. Say it out loud and listen to yourself. You don't want a GM to get maximum value?

I've been pretty firmly in the Regier's had significant extenuating circumstances, give him a chance to show what he can do without them, camp.

His (paraphrased comments) 'we're on the wrong track, we're going to blow it up and start over' pushes me away from that. Maybe he'll surprise me and not blow it up; but right now, I expect Vanek and Miller to be gone by the trade deadline at the latest and probably some other pieces which will place the team at least 3 years from competing. There's no need to completely blow it up. Bring in Lecavalier and another C and this team is in the mix for now and will be giving the kids a chance to learn in an environment significantly dissimilar to that in Edmonton.

I gave the example previously of a company selling a product at a $20 margin, which currently sells 100 units/month. Is that a good choice if dropping the price $10 (to a $10 margin) would increase sales to 300 units/month? Is the question whether $20/unit is better than $10/unit or is the question whether $2000/month is better than $3000/month?

If, hypothetically, Darcy does overvalue his players, then every trade that actually goes through will look good. Darcy was a breath away from not getting anything for Gaustad, because he wouldn't take a first. It's not too hard to imagine that he had passed on reasonable deals throughout the day on the chance that some fool would actually give him his ridiculous asking price. In this case, somebody did. Great. However, how has not making many fair deals for guys like Connolly, Roy, Stafford, etc, meaning that those players stuck around for far too long, affected the team build as a whole?

Don't know, but his rumored availability surprises me.

He was getting less and less ice time in the cup final. In game 6 he had just over 3 minutes of ice.

I know, but the guy is only 22 years old.

Oh I'm aware, I'm not saying what they should do with him one way or the other. I was just pointing out that they really chopped down his ice time as the games got important.
