People took what he said the wrong way. He said he wouldn't accept a trade to Canada. But logic tells him he only needs to put Calgary, Edmonton and MAYBE Winnipeg and Toronto. Vancouver, Ottawa and Montreal wouldn't need to be on there as they obviously wouldn't make that move.

My post was clearly speculation. Especially when words like "maybe" (in big letters) are present

I can't believe I have to fecking do this with a guy that supposedly blogs as a sidelight. Look at where your MAYBE is located. Your maybe references 2 teams. The rest of your post is stated as fact. "People took what he said the wrong way".....

Your entire post was speculation. Stated as fact. With a smidgen of wiggle for added measure. FFS

I'm speculating on the FACT that a reporter said something about Miller. The only thing stated as a fact is that the reporter said that Miller wouldn't accept a trade to Canada. That's a fact. The rest is obviously speculation.

I'm talking about logic. How is that not clear speculation? Logic would tell him not to waste his no-trade spots on teams that aren't going to trade for him anyways.

Seriously, you don't have to jump all over me every time something I say doesn't fit your needs.

Also, you can quit bringing up anything I do outside of this board in the conversation. Have you ever considered the fact that this forum isn't my life and I don't take it seriously enough to make sure that my "readership" is coddled?

You were part of a thread were people talked about how important this board was to them to get their information, yet as an aspiring journalist you feel no obligation to distinguish fact from speculation?

Don't worry about me. I will hit ignore.

I think the speculation was obvious. But do what you will.

Seriously, I haven't held grudges after the countless insults laid out to me in my short time here. I just don't care. I take everything on a case-by-case basis when it comes to online message boards because I just don't care enough to stress out when I close my laptop.

But it's gotten ridiculous.

When I say something, I don't need three or four people responding with anger. If one poster has a question about my post, they can ask me. I'll answer. That simple. I don't need the same people who, strangely, ALWAYS seem to respond to my posts/answers to questions with anger (see: definition of grudge).

The fact of this specific post: OBVIOUSLY it was speculation. Did anybody really think that Ryan Miller himself would come out and specifically say what I SPECULATED that he might be thinking? He obviously isn't going to say "well I don't want to go to Canada, but I left a few Canadian teams off the list because they aren't trading for me anyways." My post was speculation on the report that said he didn't want to go to Canada. The end.

I bring up your blogging only to make the point that your stated serious hobby is communication via the written word. And here's the rub of it, hell, the rub of nearly every argument you've been a part of here. You simply are failing to clearly communicate to us what your points are. And, when you are presented with an opinion that differs from yours you tend to react aggressively to it. The conversation escalates, as it did here. And all of a sudden you are crying victim. We aren't "jumping on you" nearly as often as you feel we are. I certainly can give you the benefit of the doubt that you aren't purposely inciting, and I won't speak for anyone else, but what I see is a fellow isn't getting the point he wants to make across, expressing frustration at the responses, and then getting defensive.

Here is an example. You state that your earlier posts were "obviously" speculation. Well, I have no clue that *you* are speculating unless *you* indicate in your post some clue that it is speculation. We are not mind readers. We can only take what you post literally because we don't know a damned thing about you or your background or your personality.

As for bringing up outside things... it fit in with the message I was trying to convey. You were more than happy to wave your blogging hobby in our faces like it was the last cookie on the tray. If you don't want outside stuff discussed in here don't wave it in our faces to begin with.

If you wish to discuss this any further, I'll be happy to oblige via PM.

I have always thought you added good insight. Anyone with half a brain knows you were speculating. We all do all the time. When you go on these forums you know you are going to get all types.

It took me awhile but I figured out who to take with a grain of salt.

I never thought I'd see the day somebody was willing to openly state that they understand what I'm getting at. Cheers to you, good sir.

There's no denying that I was a dickhole early on who kind of struggled to make sense of what was going on. I just kind of think that people held a grudge and flame me for the hell of it now.

I have no desire to flame anyone. I hate the drama. But by admitting you were a dickhole early, well, first impressions are lasting impressions I guess.

I was only a dickhole because of the cult-like attitude the "veteran" posters exude here. But I'm glad that everybody on here is so closed-minded that they can't get over it.

I never got over it. I just started ignoring it and not responding to ppl everytime they failed reading comp class. It has served me well. Sometimes ppl are genuinely confused but sometimes they are nitpicking to nitpick and it is usually the same people. Best advice is to clarify your post and then never respond to them again when they start a "well I think mine is bigger" contest.

This really doesn't help and added to the escalation. Not taking his side because I get the confusion but why the ###### are we still talking about it. One of you should just let it go and most of us don't really care which. Both of you should drop it and move on.

I said I'd continue it in PM if he wanted. And you are doing what now? ;)

I feel like several posters in this thread are having a dick measuring contest... carry on, I am amused.

So I was gone a while. I'm back anything new happening here?

So who has the biggest PP? Pics?

I don't have a ruler big enough to measure... Well... I don't actually own a ruler at all.

With the Lundquist deal Miller's ASKING price just went up. Let him hit the market and find out that he will not get the kind of money he thinks he should. Then go back to him and try to sign him then if you want. Get the players/picks first.

Yes he will. Ryan Miller is a great goaltender and every gm knows it.

I think it'd be far more useful to determine who has the largest dickhole (urethra?).

I always get a kick out of claptrap like "the cult-like attitude of the vets around here" and bullspit about how existing members close ranks as a barrier to entry into some virtual fraternity. I'm not saying that new posters who're outspoken and/or sometimes ill-considered don't get their internet mettle tested (ooooooh - scary), e-cage rattled, and such -- it's just that griping about it is so -- well, pitiable.

Maybe it's a generational thing. For most people born before a certain time, it's real life situations that have (or had) the power to bump and bruise the sense of self; online boards tend to lack that power over them (us). But for many others born after a certain time, there appears to be less of a distinction between online and IRL interactions.

If all else fails let's just blame this thread on Darcy. Our team sucks, our hockey egos are bruised and we are all a little aggressive right now. Let's hold tight on the dick measuring contest for a little bit. All together now - F U DARCY!!!
