26CornerBlitz Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 @Russostrib Matt Cooke video tribute being conducted in front of appreciative crowd #mnwild #penguins (No Shanny isn't narrating, for those who asked) Quote
drnkirishone Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 I watched the hit, so I'm not judging it on what the ref called. How can there be a "good" hit followed by a "good" brawl followed by a "good" suspension? i said nothing about a good suspension. I said the phone interview is good. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 NHL DoPS Video: No supplemental discipline for Washington's Wilson Welp. I reckon I need to watch the replay again, and then watch the explanation (once I'm at a PC). I may have to cop to getting this wrong and erring on the side of over-correction. What I will say: There will be grey area galore in this brave new world. I never saw that hit as a black and white issue. I did think it would get 3-5 games, though. Quote

Eleven Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 I just can't believe the Schenn decisions.* Wow. *(1) the decision not to have a baseline test by Schenn and/or Filly; (2) the league's decision. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Probably the most pathetic display of officiating I've seen all year in any game, in the 3rd period of the Panthers-Senators game. Quote
deluca67 Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Stars' top line enjoying chemistry, success  The Sabres don't have a Seguin or Benn, I'd like to see what Girgensson could do on that line. Quote
inkman Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 The Sabres don't have a Seguin or Benn, I'd like to see what Girgensson could do on that line. It's a pretty safe bet to assume Nichushkin would be sucking like the rest of the Sabres. Quote
26CornerBlitz Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) It's a pretty safe bet to assume Nichushkin would be sucking like the rest of the Sabres. With PLF and Ted in charge he'd likely be elsewhere (KHL/AHL), but he'd be at a minimum a great prospect like no other currently in the system. And of course he scores again tonight: http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=2013020531-440-h Edited December 20, 2013 by 26CornerBlitz Quote

Of his six goals, 4/5 are goals that he did most of the work for. Another was on a nice pass by Erik Cole. I don't think he's a result of Benn and Seguin at all. Nichushkin gets space because those two exist. Quote
bunomatic Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 I know it won't happen because of the bigger names involved but both Benn and Seguin should make up two thirds of a line on Canadas olympic team with the way they're playing and the chemistry between them. Quote

Nichushkin gets space because those two exist. Sure, but he's taken two goals from the neutral zone on his own and scored. So we can put him down for playing with good players, but you can't ignore his obvious skill as a playmaker. Quote
Campy Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 It's a pretty safe bet to assume Nichushkin would be sucking like the rest of the Sabres. Yeah, especially after Lindy got his hands on him. Quote
CallawaySabres Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Yeah, Buffalo would really hate to have this guy right now - God I hate Darcy more and more every single day.. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2013/12/20/jaromir-jagr-cant-help-but-rave-about-stars-rookie-nichushkin/ Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) Lindy hates offense. And Russians. And rookies. And probably Christmas cookies too. Edit: That said, I do think there's some truth to the notion getting fired was good for him. Might have gotten him to re-evaluate some of the more stubborn aspects of his coaching. It was time for him to move on from Buffalo. The fact that Darcy wasn't shown the door with him was ridiculous. Quote

Jeanbe Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 No suspension for Wilson. No suspension for dangerous hits if the guy isn't injured. Good to know. Quote
HopefulFuture Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) No suspension for Wilson. Not surprising at all. It was a clean hit, as I stated originally. http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/21963-around-the-nhl-2013-2014/page__st__2200#entry534328 Edited December 21, 2013 by HopefulFuture Quote

Wich is good cause what good is it putting in 4 goals if you take 6 yourself. I like how we are set up to draft forwards for the next two years. Quote

While I realize we have a bunch of goaltending prospects, I'm not sued any of them will be NHL # 1 goalies, including Enroth. Quote
